guys..sorry for noob question here...
just wanna know something for sure...

Herm.. we all saw the amd64 3000+ can oc up till 2.8 ghz rite? they have a high fsb (e.g 300) and a lower rams (e.g ddr450 max) ... does this mean they'll have to use the divider? (i guess they use the divider for stability). Will it effect the performance comparing if settling to 1:1 ?

Also, how to start oc? begin from cpu? rams? - I'll jus need a short ans from this..will google for extra info on it...

thanks guys ^^

hmm... thanks for da info ^^
im only using value ram... canot get to 640 ler..haha... max should around 450 only ..dat time my rams also wan vomit ard ..hehe

I guess i'll go on with the divider... Fsb thingy..i wont go 5mhz i guess...too lazy to test so many times ^^ btw.. oc rams 1st to get the max mhz den only oc the cpu and set the divider or vice versa?

HMM...very clear indeed ^^
so as a conclusion.... 1st and 2nd objective is about the same rite? both aslo touch the CPU fsb only.. Dont have to touch the memory rite~
Btw, everytime i up the fsb..i'll need to set the divider? or leave it a 1:1 until it got problems.

hm...i guess i understand ard...
but 1 last question... when upping my fsb.. the divider can remain default or 1:1 rite? i dont have to adjust the divider and only adjust them when it crashes?

er... so lets take amd 3500+ as example...
if not mistaken...it has a multiplier of 11 and fsb of 200. So by using a ddr2667 / 337mhz, to get the balance at 1:1, the fsb need to be 337 and with a x11..its a whooping 3gz+++ which i think is kinda impossible..

1. So is it better to have a lower fsb running on auto divider whereby fsb < ram ratio (might sacrifice to go for a lower ram settings to achieve 1:1) or lower multiplier running on 1:1 until it reach a stable state?

2. Also, is there any harm to let FSB ratio < RAM ratio as becoz i heard its not advisable to run FSB ratio > RAM ratio as it doesnt give much performance.

3. On CPU-z , the FSB : RAM written as CPU/9 (etc) .. wat does dat mean? 9 is the divider? wat is the use of looking at the divider value comparing to ratio?

Sorry for the MANY questions, I hope to ask all in 1 short so i dont have to trouble u guys again... kinda confuse reading from diff guides ^^

Thanks for all the answers ^^

oic...i guess i'll try out using my 3000+ system and my fren 3500+am2 system to see the comparison ... thanks so much guys... wish me luck tongue.gif

btw... am2 using ddr2 while k8 using ddr1.. using the same ghz cpu 3000+.. am2 3000+ easier to reach a more stable 1:1 because of its ddr2 rite? becoz i think its almost impossible to run 1:1 on k8 system when oc..

haha...im using value ram only... if still wan maintain 1:1... haha...better dun oc tongue.gif coz know the limit ard

3.0ghz on 3000+ ? can increase multiplier ar? else ur ram must be a very good 1...

btw...using SP2004 and 3dmark03 enough to test? coz i feel confuse with prime95..lolz

Hi all..i have a weird problem here. My OC is not working. Im using a64 3000+ s939, 2 gb value rams.

I tried to raise my HTT to 220mhz and kept my rams in default mode - 3-3-3-8. Divider is 1:1.
I'm able to boot up my pc but then when i checked in cpuz my core speed and bus speed is still the same 1800 and 201. My rams still clocked at 201mhz.

Whats wrong with it? do i missed some crucial steps?
When i restart pc and went into bios again to check. it written my current speed is 1980 (220x9). Any advise? thx alot

p.s : im using dfi nf4 ultra infinity.
