s-940 use ddr1 with ecc

s-AM2 use ddr2 tongue.gif

1. More voltage = more  heat.
not necessarily. higher clockspeed will contribute more heat. if you pump higher voltage at default speed (example 1.8ghz on 3000+) the temperature is not much different... probably only around 2-3'C higher.

Still higher rite even tough its just 2-3c ? No doubt about having higher clockspeed which contributes to higher temperatures.

Yeah, they are easier to burn/spoilt under overclocking with cheap psu.

i got weird problem for my DFI NF4 SLI expert, i seems cant reach 300fsb... it seems maxed out at 275, i using divider for my ram also wont help... it just wont boot... last time using biostar no problem touching 300fsb, wat settings did it missed out? also lower the hypertransport multiplier also wont help with 300*3 = 900 only..

vcore not enuf? heard that expert need higher voltage (if compared to others)as it's very precise in supplyin d juice while some other boards usually overvolt... smile.gif

wat is this to means?? i mean wat ram suits wat ram? cause i really new to DFI bios, lol.... i cant use certain memory divider, tht's y i cant hit 300fsb... it juz wont when doing 300fsb using divider to run ddr 400... last time tforce can do it cause less memory timings,... unsure.gif unsure.gif

guys..sorry for noob question here...
just wanna know something for sure...

Herm.. we all saw the amd64 3000+ can oc up till 2.8 ghz rite? they have a high fsb (e.g 300) and a lower rams (e.g ddr450 max) ... does this mean they'll have to use the divider? (i guess they use the divider for stability). Will it effect the performance comparing if settling to 1:1 ?

Also, how to start oc? begin from cpu? rams? - I'll jus need a short ans from this..will google for extra info on it...

thanks guys ^^

yeah, sometimes when our system RAM can't go with 1:1, then we can use divider to limit our system RAM, our system RAM shouldnt go any higher than CPU FSB, it'll become nightmare tongue.gif, it's not for stability, it just because some RAM modules can't do 1:1...mine here 1:1 at DDR640 without problem...

start OC? increase your CPU FSB from stock (200MHz) to say 5Mhz increment, stress test it...success? go ahead, increase it with small increment...whistling.gif (this is just basic - mine, i'll go for big increment whistling.gif)

I guess i'll go on with the divider... Fsb thingy..i wont go 5mhz i guess...too lazy to test so many times ^^ btw.. oc rams 1st to get the max mhz den only oc the cpu and set the divider or vice versa?
