As the title described I'm experiencing constant screen freeze during gameplay especially during WoL campaign. The screen just freeze but I can still hear the game going.

The battle net forum said it's the GPU problem but I'm pretty sure my GPU does not have any problems at all because other games such as Diablo 3 and Dota 2 does not have such problem.

Any sifu here know how to solve this problem? It spoiled my game many times already.  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

please provide your task manager HDD resource utilization trending during the game play before/during/after and ESPECIALLY during freeze.

a second monitor may help, else enable data logging/log writing to a file etc.

additionally, are you using on board sound card or external sound card? can try lowering the sound channels or even disabling sound completely and see if it helps?

for gpu, is it possible to do a gfx card swap? i have slight suspicion that your graphic card rams may have overheated/faulty.
possible to do a gpu/graphic stress test and see if you can replicate the issue?

a quick run down would be to do a clean uninstall of ALL your pc's drivers, and reinstall all of them on the latest drivers if you haven't already. (don't care other game can or cannot.)

Use the PC resource monitor and check on full Disk IO utilization/response rate (in ms)

normal on ram usage.
can you provide your full pc specs as well?

tried preloader as another member mentioned?

I've checked on the full disk IO rate. It shows something like this:

No need for that anymore, I've searched the battle net forum and found many many players with same problem as me. My brother who worked as computer technician said if I have no problem playing Diablo 3 and Dota 2 which stresses the GPU even more than SC2, then the problem should be at SC2 software.

that's a wrong way to troubleshoot, especially when most of us (eg: me, Timber2k7 , at least "solvable") aren't having such problems, and mind you i am running on much lower spec PC.

However sure if you're ok in believing your bro then by all means go ahead.

I adjusted the sound channel to high and it freezes again.  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif Clearly that's the problem.

the onboard sound chip couldn't cope with the processing requirement (as it can get hectic during large engagements)

surprisingly you did mentioned that the graphic frozen and game (sound) was going on sweat.gif
