You can actually get pre boards with multiple inputs and volume control. Even has remote and LCD screen too. For DAC implementation just use the DAC output as one of the pre inputs. If you're interested I actually found a china manufacturer that can customize the 4 channel names if you don't want the standard "CD, AUX, DVD,... etc" labels.
