I assume you're asking me. I started looking at ELAC B6 before finding a suitable amp to power it, but many says its inefficient and requires more power (hence more money for amp), that brought PM8005 in mind (with the relatively cheap price here in UK).
Else I would just get the PM6005 and look elsewhere for more efficient speaker (can increase budget for speaker then).
Will go to RicherSounds some time next week to have a look.

Actually the PM6005 is also cheap here at RM1.4k, but the indicated price for the coming PM6006 is RM2.4k (closer to M'sia PM6005 price). Maybe they are clearing to make way for new models.

As I can't find any hifi shop here that carries both Marantz amp and ELAC speaker, it would be tough to decide even if I pay the shop a visit. Though general consensus is bigger, more powerful, more expensive = better. The closest competitor to the B6 in that shop is Dali Zensor 3.

Any tips for demoing amps?

Went to demo the PM6005 + KEF Q300, harsh, bright, thin is all I can say. Power wise it is pretty good.
They didn't have PM8005 in stock, so I requested the Q300 to be paired with Cambridge Audio CXA80 to see whether the extra power is necessary, overall impression still the same, so I just went with the PM6005.
The headphone jack can't play my earphones and headphone properly though, so it'll just sit there until I return to Malaysia  .
Out of topic: officially crossed the Q300 from my options. Although the guy says that pair doesn't have much playback time, but I think the general characteristic is not my taste.

Even Dynamic Acoustics sells at a discount from the RRP to individual customers. These jokers sell at >10% premium on top of the RRP.
On the other hand, I checked with Style Laser last week. The owner had the impression that it would only be available in July / August. So once I told him DA already got stocks he quickly ordered and gave me a call just now. 
He offered me a price that I can accept RM 2,550. But he kept telling me that he only got 1 unit and urged me to bank in deposit to reserve it...(along with other stories that PM 6005 has increased price from RM2.1k to RM2.2k -> which I verified is a lie because I called to the shop to check price with the worker) and that second batch PM6006 will be in July (not sure which day) and the price might not go down much if any at all.
I know business is getting harder these days but I feel being pressured to buy instantly and I feel he's probably charging me a premium of RM 100-300 because he thinks I'm desperate. =\
I wonder if I should just pull the trigger already. The price is okay but I really hate it when ppl lie to me to get business.

Well. In the end I got the PM 6006 from style laser. Other hi-fi shops (CM*, etc) were downright unscrupulous quoting me > RM 3000 while Dynamic Acoustics sells to individual buyers at RM 2700. The msg here is, style laser still has the best deal I could find (hope this saves ppl some trouble and at least don't pay more than RM 2700 for it.

I'm very happy with the combination of B&W 685 S2 and PM 6006. Still not yet run-in but 蔡琴 被遗忘的时光 is already so good even just playing through Spotify.

I have changed to pioneer. I like the pioneer mcacc than audyssey.

I have 2 settings. One with sub and the other without sub.
With sub, I set my front center and LR as small and then I use 10-30ms.
Without sub, I set my front center and LR as big and then I use 0-20ms.
You need to try all to find the best that suit yours.
Did you place the mic behind of your listening position and at the same height of your ear?  This makes a lot of difference.

Thanks guys. I guess it is limited for future 5.1/7.1 setup. So I guess the question is how much quality will be given up if I opted for the av setup.

Not sure why you all so scared to update?

The firmware has a checksum data and if it doesn't match the sum on the AVR, it doesn't proceed, end of story.

If it proceeds, then all good to go la unless the firmware file itself is corrupted or (touch wood) house black out when flashing.

If not for the sticker I wouldn't have think twice about updating. I wait for ktek or chanhin to update their first

Hello guys. Noob question hoping to get some answers. I've been listening to Spotify using my PM 6006's DAC paired with B&W 685 S2.

Just now I came across a local band called EB Duet with a few videos on YouTube. It's so much livelier and sounded much much nicer than the other songs I heard on Spotify / YouTube (so called audiophile versions).

How come these few songs sound so much livelier?
Or is it just me?

Go straight SR7010 yo. Only downside is cannot use DSU/Neural X on whatever content you want. DSU is locked to Dolby encoded sources, Neural X locked to DTS sources. But aside from that, fantastic receiver for the price.

I change from SR5005 into SR5010 and from my experiences (DTS-HD movies), surprisingly the sound quality is degraded even I had disable the ECO mode.

Maybe when I have time, I should redo the calibration.

Suggest you to go for higher end and skip SR5010.
