Seems like almost same exclude Rosewill. Rosewill has issue with weak USB connector.
You choose these 3 because of tight budget, right?  sad.gif
Internal domes, spring are all made by Topre Inc Japan.
The price are standard, among Realforce, Happy Hacking and FC660C. Just layouts are different.
I have Topre "Leopold" Realforce case, still the same pricing as the Topre Realforce itself. Very good build.
*
Yeah i forgot to convert, the price is similar with exception of vendor markup.

You sell hhkbs, where do you source them, japan? Mind sharing the process? I really think the fc660c is the perfect keyboard minus those 2 awful buttons

something like that, wanted to get a cheap entry level keyboard to try out 1st. smile.gif

so its between ducky or cm storm right? since rosewill has some issue.

Ducky Zero is nice. Got forummer bought and use until now, no problem.
If you try to get LED mechanical keyboard, be reminded that the LED will die earlier than the switch.
So, if you don't need LED, get a non-LED keyboard.
For non-LED, I will recommend Filco Majestouch 2. nod.gif

For entry level LED, then either CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid-i or Ducky Shine Zero. nod.gif

Source from Japan.
Why not just get a Topre Realforce 23U and a HHKB?
Seems you not like Leopold at all from what I read from your post.

Why actually you want a Topre?

Ducky Zero will be fine. If you willing to top up, then Filco will be great.
So, depends on your budget...
CM Storm non-LED like Rapid and Stealth already EOL. sad.gif

My first keyboard also Ducky.

Will it be an issue when i want to remove the switches later on? I've read about SIP socket before but if not mistaken theres an issue when removing it from the switch. So i decided to go with white leds and led shades instead.  biggrin.gif
*
yeah you'll need to desolder the entire switch. cause the sip socket is gonna be inside the switch. i've never desolder it so i wouldn't know but it doesnt seem to be an issue biggrin.gif

I'm getting the CM storm rapid-I because of the LED backlight and also because it's tenkeyless biggrin.gif

Ducky Zero doesn't have any backlight.

i tried the blacks (7g) and blue (QFR-i), and while theyre better than membrane keyboards, theres something not right with a 1 keyboard solution (the blues click actually made my gaming worse). i thought id make the plunge directly to the ultimate board and decided that fc660c layout would be it (not really into keycaps customization) and if i didnt like it, id go down instead of from the bottom up (price doesnt seem as staggering considering what i read about topre stock pbt keycaps, most of the cherry switches comes with abs and to replace the full board with pbt would consume another 100+ anyway)

i initially thought that tkl is my board but after i tried not using f-keys i realized how much i dont really need them (i only missed f2 rename and f5 refresh) but i was still dependent on arrow keys. so you can imagine how intrigued i was when i discovered 75% boards and then the leopold.

thats the reason. if i didnt like it, id sell it. the fc660c isnt common here and i figured if i fancy something else selling it wont be a hassle.

anyway how do you mediate from amazon jp to local mail service?

Lol buy pbt keycap set for cherry MX expensive. Shipping from Japan to Malaysia not expensive. Dik, ringgit value turun. Not good to import now unless you kaya.

Fc660c here macam no one bring in. Our sensei quovadis123 only bring in rf and hhkb

First time posting in mech kb thread... me --> noob so bear with any errors.

- initially got poisoned when someone talked abt custom korean kb, gatal2 wanted to try building myself one.
- cost very high, with tax and stuff can go beyond 1k+
- rethink about my situation and now sort of delay it to future.
- got idea fix what I have, a Razer BWU original.

- Problem with that BWU : 1) LEDs dying, at this time of typing this 5 LEDs are dead
2) MX blue are noisy, wake up my mom easily at midnight
3) Key switches felt inconsistent, like some have degraded after 3 years of use
4) My sister complain kb like showing signs it is failing. Now I use laptop at college, basically my sis own that KB and pc d. rclxub.gif
5) Shiny acrylic top is fingerprint magnet, and it scratches.

- Ideas that have : 1) Buy new MX Brown switches, and change all the MX blues out
2) Change all the LEDs, maybe will change another colour, not sure. White?
3) Change out original spring to korean spring, I saw someone selling, but gold plated one don't have. sad.gif
4) Add stickers to the switch as well
5) Lube all the new switches
6) Either polish that shiny acrylic top piece to shine or sand it down and coat with plastidip
* seems like most parts can be obtained from lyn seller

- Why I do so : 1) Give me and my sister that smile when we type on it
2) Looks like a good weekend project (I think I can finish in one day)
3) Gain experience, have fun modding stuff, I like modding stuff laugh.gif

I forgot where i read from but apparently razer use refurbished switches.

Why do you want to lube browns? Brown's tactility already very less, lubing it will lessen it more.

Some people reported that gold springs is stiffer compared to normal ones. This is something that i personally am not sure yet.

You want to change the switches and leds yourself ka?

Save cost ma, let ppl do have to charge me also, le me poor le.

For lube, I'm not sure, never tried it. Best is to mod everything and save lubing for last.

Actually the sticker is to stabilize the switch?

Oh yea, I've seen Vortex PBT double shot backlight caps, looks so nice, the razer one is rubbish. sweat.gif

Sprit on geekhack still selling golden springs. Anyway, the Brown feels quite light, feels like need a ever so slightly stiffer spring to be perfect for me.

Stickers are said to secure the wobbly switch top housing. I just stickered mine yesterday and it does actually makes the switch top housing not wobbly compared to a non-sticker one. But i'm not sure if this affects your typing feel as i haven't assemble my keyboard yet.

i dont think its a good i deal to mod a razer. my friend used the same keybaord as you broken so i harvest the switches and i see the way the seal the plate is not beginner friendly. you might as well get a new keyboard for switches you already spending around rm220 on switches alone brown is china RMB 3.5 you need 110 of them.and lastly razer PCB having alot of complaint for the 1st Blackwidow.
razer is using non standard layout so be careful while looking for keycap .

I'm aware of that, but looking for a new backlight kb will burn a big hole in my wallet and what can I do with the BWU collecting dust? I have other hobby to feed, haha.

Not sure if I will notice the difference as i'm lubing and swapping springs as well. Many claims that its more for aesthetic purpose and less of actual feel though i dont know. But if you're already opening up the switches might as well do it!
