I'm experiencing this weird bass problem on my AKG. Last night I popped in Eva Cassidy's Songbird and the first song (#01 Fields of Gold), and the background acoustic guitars creates distortions especially when Eva is singing. It sounded as if my AKG's drivers failed to push air fast enough to keep in pace with the singer.

Then i let my headphones run through a whole night of sine wave sweep and it manage to reduce this distortion, but its still there though sad.gif gonna let it burn-in more.

p/s: my SR80 doesn't exhibit such distortion.

oh dear... neva tot AKG701 encounter so many tiny changes once a while. Guess it is the most sensitive headphone which truly apply the Burnin theory.

This is normal, the sensitive ones picking up every tiny bit of 'error' in the song.

shocking.gif you guys won't believe this! Last night i downloaded the Edifier speaker burn-in tool, set a 20-20000Hz range and the sine-wave run for the entire night. This morning when i listen to my K701 it does show some improvements on the bass production. Its punchier.

Then i have class at 2pm, and i left my PC on while playing pink-noise on the Edifier burn-in tool. Come back at 5pm and holy cow, the bass is out! rclxm9.gif My test track is "Mario Winans ft. P.Diddy - I don't wanna know" and honestly its bass is still not as impactful as my SR80 but it certainly hit deep down.

Unfortunately the Eva Cassidy Fields of Gold track still show distortions. Gonna let it burn more. nod.gif

Can you recommend any 1/4" stereo plugs that are high quality? The examples above are RCAs right?
