I might focus in another headamp than the cable or plug thing. U might miss how original AKG701 looks like someday if had done modded to it.

Cable dun provide significant performance like instant Waoh-effect.

Trust me u wouldn't want to spent hundred for that minimum of improvement. U might at least thinking to buy a more special Valentine gift for ur gal gal.

But currently nothing pawns down GS1k gua...

after u got a house u will think of a hifi theather setup.

days ago, me & pcwork chatting bout the Track06.. the aeroplane thing. Completely different description from both of us in SR60 vs HP890.

haha..i know this is OT.

But i wonder this burnin tools could help me to improve my SR60. I had using SR60 for more than 2years liao..

btw, Ijan.. how many hours is ur AKG701 now? So far so Good?!

nth major to talk bout. Haha..but not for tos freaking details pickers.

SR60 produces the plane fly over slower from the left and fade away earlier to the right. Means low sound hard to produce wif SR60.

eg HP890 oredi can hear the Vroom at duration 40sec. SR60 can hear at duration 46sec.

And I cannot feel the plane flying to the middle of my headphone(or above my head). PCwork said his HP890 can feel the flying 'Vroom' over his head. (this one confirm no fly beyond my head)

Dun take this serious. For a true result, both persons should test both headphones on the spot.

since u guys serious bout this Track 06. i took another concentration.

Tested wif PCS805>SR60:
Between 20sec to 34sec - hear the wind or vroom in the sky(unindentify objects to me).
After 35 sec- can identify it is a plane
1:03s still sounds weak when it suppose to be the loudest.
After 1.45 - unheard any Vroom or wind sound in the sky.

Yeahs4.1 & Han is testing wif Akg701, rite? So, both of urs result pretty close to each others.

(Pls dun take my #post 468 result as real, as i simply put the time duration to make a quick explanation.. )

I cannot detect the loudest airplane noise at 1:03s as happend in real life experience.
My living place used to haf some airplane fly over.. So, i know how noisy it is should be.

Yeah, the seagull still listenable & sharp. But i couldn't hear anything bout the plane after dat ...until 2.00s.

Have u try wif SR80? Maybe my ear cacat liao..hee..

Back from Han's place.. Enjoyed the AKG701.. but not as much as wanted to.. haha..

I suggest Pcwork listen to a pair which is fully-burned.

I feel some details is losing compare to my last visited at SG esp soundstage.
The soundstage got potential to be more wider. (It suppose to be alot wider.)

Anyway, 180hours burned.. Too many hours to move on!..

LD2+ dun haf obvious harsh or sharpen sound anymore..it removes tos "pssst, shhh" voice's tail.
Much warmer sound than LDM+.

Surprisingly, LDM+ is quite powerful enuff to drive AKG701, dun compare wif Grado phones(of cuz).

I will keep looking for another safety headamp. My desk is full wif things. No place to put a "serious" heater besides.. Unless i am ready to bake some toaster or warming my coffee.

My cousins likes to climb over the table to steal the candies. It could be danger.

Dat would be another story if i can get LD2+ at lower price. hiak hiak.

Walabies, I couldn't finalize impression on AKG701 since it is still at preliminary stage. And it sounds difference from my first tried experience.
Now i can imaging how worse it sounds like when it is fresh outta the box after Han explained details bout it.

After i listened at the volume level of track06 at ur home..Do u think i need a surgery?

Han, sometimes i feel u lucky to search for alot of info b4 getting this AKG701. Most important is the burnin 1000+ hours to maintain ur confidence in this Flagship headphone.

If others dude who dun do their homework well, they will really headache or let go at cheap price.

I oso agree that u should attend the DIY gathering at KL. Too many headamps around, everybody said they are using the good one.. Until u listen to it, u only realize the improvement is dat little or dun even worth u spent over thousand plus to retrieve the result which might lower than ur expectation.

PCwork should show how to solder the cable in the gathering..

Then ppl will start to realize how complicated it supposed to be.
Eyes-strain handwork..

Btw, just dun bring the hinge wif Glued one... Bring the one wif better condition~

Avoid to "spoilt" the image of HP890 easily damaged hinge..

Aiyo..i still admire the Senn phones can open wide wide one...Dat one can buy for portable if good sounding.

i afraid to say HP890 is much closer sound quality to AKG701 than SR80..haha

Really hope the xyz headamp is not goin over a price of Akg701.

Like u mentioned, forking out Rm1000 for a wider soundstage(the most obvious characteristics) probably is not everyone willing to choose. I really hope i got the chance to stay wif AKG701 for a longer moment (Alone). So, i can really decide whether it is worth Rm1000 for another music nirvana or 'just-fine' SR60 grado. Ooops it should be RM1200 since i got SR60. haa..

AKG701 is still the most sexy design amongst all the major flagship brand.
Priority on AKG701, i am buying the design & the sound quality become 2nd concern. Seems like a show-off gadget. I could becoming one of the audiophile impostor by any single chance.

U guys mini KL gathering coming soon. I bet all of ur previous review goin to throw into deep sea. Waiting for a thoroughly positive & honest review~!.

(hopefully & praying for a lovely soulmate for Han's AKG701.)
