guys~ need suggestion~ lately i feel like im not satisfied with the beats of my headphone anymore~ im using Q701, K240mkII + E9 and E7~ should i change headphone or upgrade amp? if so any recommendation? i enjoy bass~
When you say bass, do you mean rumbling type or Cause the Q701 does gives you real deep well defined bass

personally, i lik my k240 better than my q701 when it come to bass, i mean something like erm..nightcore with bass...this few days just few tht something is lacking in my music...not satisfied at all...
yeah i noe akg bass kinda lose a bit when compare to others but still i like akg coz of the design~
Loose is not the right description, it is precise. What you hear is what the recording engineers' actual mix. No colourisation. It is just with individual preference.

It sounds genuine, but i also heard there are handful of fake AKG models in the market. I feel like asking my brother to make the purchase Dilemma =_=
Edit: He tested the headphone and the sound quality almost like what the forumers described in lowyat and Headfi.org.
The price point is definitely a fake. The fakes are available at a reputable CD chain stores here in KL as well

hi all, im currently studying in uk right now, just picked up my brand new akg k350 for 41gbp = approximately rm205, im so satisfied with the sound it produces. it plays song according to the song and i dont feel there is any manipulation, or in simple words, clean sound. i also owned denon ahnc600 and shure se215 but both of them are iem. my akg will certainly be my favourite portable headphone now and replace my earbuds. however, i still prefer denon for low profile look
I just bought a Q701, and to me it sounded very different from what I imagined. Based on what I read online so far, K701 and Q701 should sound very similar. But to me they are worlds apart from what I remember how the K701 sounded like.
About 2 years back I tested K701 in jaben, the soundstage is incredibly huge that everything sounded weird to my ears. It was plugged into some unknown expensive amp (heard that the amp is worth more than RM2k).
Currently I'm just running my Q701 with a cheapo China amp http://www.head-fi.org/t/407756/hifidiys-m...a-headphone-amp , but I'm happy with how it sounds. Soundstage is not that huge, but at least it sounded 'real' to me. And much to my surprise it's not hard to drive it up to loud volume.
Wonder anyone AB the K701 and Q701 before and what's your opinion ?
there is a big difference between volume and dynamics wait till you have heard the Q701 driven off an ALO, you will really go wow
there is a raging debate going on over here with regards to amping the k701
I enjoy the Q701 a lot. Huge improvement over my MS1 and it's less fatigue. Yup, I truly agree with you on the volume and dynamic factor. Haha, I haven't really got chance to test any nice dac / amp. But I'm just really curious about the differences of Q701 and K701, as they sounded very different to me. Can a dac / amp really make such a huge difference between those 2 ? Maybe I need to do more reading then
the difference in cables does make a subtle difference between them and yes, the combination of dac/amp does make a big difference, even the inter-link cable. just ask bro Quazacolt who was toying with different cables between his lappy and the ALO amp
