u can calculate out how much savings for both scenarios.
then compare the type of lifestyles, see which u prefer, the pros and cons.
then make your decision.

Guys
Happy CNY...belated thou'. Have been busy travelling.

My assignment in Sg is coming to a close in 4 weeks after over 3 years and will be relocating to another neighbouring country. I will miss the lower tax regime that I enjoyed in Sg!

I have some personal stuff, mainly books / paperwork to ship back to KL. So I am looking for a reliable and reasonable shipping company to ship these back, by volume rather than weight.

I would be much obliged if you all can recommend such a company.

Thanks.
*
no such company exists. its always the higher of the volumetric weight or actual weight. u can find the dimensions and estimate cost of the jumbo boxes for DHL or Fedex online and see which is cheaper

just ask your boss to be flexible for your starting hours. say u arrive to work 830-930, depending on traffic conditions. then if u arrive late, u make up by knocking off later.
see what your boss says.

btw

can i bring my mechanical kerboard to singapore ???

any taxes ?
*
just hand carry it in. I am using a CM storm i-rapid, which I have rma-ed 3 times now...
that means i have brought it in and out of SG 6 times already..... (with and without the box)
as its a TKL, i can fit it in my backpack. no issues, even when they scan my bag.
U can say u brought home for personal use. they can do nothing abt it.

Guys I've never been to SG so I need help with my travel plans.

I need to find a way to get to International Business Park. I believe the nearest MRT to IBP is Jurong East but I still need to take a 10 mins cab ride or walk for 30mins.

Any suggestion?
*
download the app streetdirectory. it will show u the options. it has offline maps too.

Wanna ask, what is the best to do oversea fund transfer from SG bank to MBB MY?

Currently using OCBC bank (Trying to avoid the $25 fee)
*
I have only tried DBS Remit. No charges. Xfer in the morning (before 11am), get the funds in HSBC by evening.

of course la. U stated u have ocbc account, and ocbc has a fee of $25. U wanted other options. Naturally that would mean u have to open bank accounts............
else just go to arcade and let the money changers remit for u

Noted on that. Thanks for the response.

I will go there by plane, from KLIA2 to Changi Airport. The interview location is at Changi South Lane....

Get the Nets Flashpay (NFP) card. More versatile than ezlink.

https://www.changirecommends.com/deal.aspx?id=1026

It can be used for transportation (bus, mrt, cabs) and at retail outlets (many more than ezlink).

Hi all, could you help me with a query? I found my current accommodation through an estate agent and the lease will end on 31st December.

Given that I don't intend to renew the lease, am I required to inform the landlord, the agent or both parties and when should I inform them?

Thanks in advance!
*
Common sense pls. Read the signed agreement. Courtesy says u inform the landlord a month or 2 before lease ends, so they can begin search for a replacement.
This kind of thing still need to ask?

wanted to ask if i was hired by a company, and the salary offered is not very good $2500.
but i would like to take it as my "entry ticket" into working in SG.

will it be easy to find another job when I am in Singapore?
Thanks smile.gif
*
need more info. what industry u in, what position? only then can judge if $2,500 is reasonable.
easy to find, up to u. if u are capable, companies sure will want to hire u. but do note that they would prefer PR/SG'reans, as some companies dont like to deal with paperwork/admin and the hassle of obtaining an EP for u.
