5 years working experience as Piping Engineer can ask for how much pay in Singapore?  icon_question.gif

If O&G, better try Middle East, USD mar....
My friend that working in Qatar Gas taking USD. From beginning of the year of rm3.2 and now rm3.5, each USD can yield extra rm0.3 and he just transferred USD30000 back to Malaysia.
Middle East countries now prefer people that have experience + paper, I think with your post easily can get USD4000 thumbup.gif
I only work as security's supervisor also can get about USD3000 as I got no paper cry.gif

Another one here, based in SG, alternate week in SG and MY. When in MY I work at my home. Kind of tired flying every week though. Not lucky, worked hard to get into this position. Lower pay than my peers but more time with family so its ok.
*
But mine is work 5 weeks off 3 weeks icon_rolleyes.gif

Working as foreign worker must think like a foreign worker.
If not, you can't save money.

What bank is that?
You can always put money in that online account a sum of money.
Like Maybank, all money are out in online FD and I only use it to pay my monthly bills and cards. Balance will be put in FD again.

Hi All,

I have some RM (>10k) to be change to SGD or USD in Singapore. Which one is better, RM-SGD or RM-USD?
Office in Suntec City and stay near Bedok. Appreciate if someone can advise the best place to change the notes.
Thanks.
*
Should changing Euro in Malaysia then using the Euro and change SG/USD in Singapore.
I think this way will be more workable considering now rm only strong against Euro and weak to all currencies hmm.gif

Ya those rich butt bankers. Allowance alone few thousands  already more than people's pay. Should hang them out to dry in marina bay for hogging all the money. Not like us small people everyday worried about over budget.
If you come in yesterday with this we won't have Monday blues already. Wow good advise! Take note peeps.
*
Actual when we change on money exchange are worst than what stated.
Like in SG they won't really want to sell it cheap.

Hi fellows. Anyone comutes daily from JB to SG for work? Any advice on time, mode, cost, duration, convenience and stress levels?

Have an offer on the table but family to big to move to SG which means i need a SGD3k+ per month unit to rent. Kind education also a problem for my eldest who is in the midst of secondary school so he might not be able to cope mid way thru.

My best thought up to now is to commute daily for the 1st year, while cashing out from everything i own in KL. Apply for PR. And 2nd year try to buy a decent place in SG then move the whole family.

Any thoughts?

Maybe you should ask : what is the life as a foreign worker?

For Network Engineering line huge MNC, the business is usually Telco (singtel, BT, AT&T, etc) or SI (D-Data, IBM, etc).
Never seen other that those which will pay 6-7k SGD for L2 role.....

But good to know that so now I know I am paid way way way below market range......
*
Not happy can always come back to Malaysia whistling.gif
Those Singaporeans know that you won't leave them, so the most they will give you extra SGD1 laugh.gif
When interviewing for taking a job, technical skill matters.
When want to climb higher in a particular company, technical skills will only kills you, instead, your PLP skill matters.
For your case, your PLP skills really needs to be polished.

Used to be different few years back, Singaporeans were more tolerable with us as we speak similar language and share the same culture.
Malaysians used to be preferred over other nationals but this is no longer the case; qualification and experience being equal.
*
On the upcoming mass interview that being done by a Singapore company, it tell us(that still working in Malaysia) another story, the pay are being low balled and being forced to take lower positions.

force? the interviewer brought guns or parangs along to make them sign offer letter?
*
Nope, he said the post was being taken up, as I said this is a mass interview, most of the group from MY and SG are exchanging info. People from SG are getting higher post will lesser experience while people from MY are getting lower post even with much higher experience.
Racism are happening every where, every time.
