its pretty uncomfortable to live with a salary below s$2k. You might have to share a rented room, always budget on your meal, almost no extra for entertainment.
I always tell my work folks, they are the lucky ones, drawing s$2.5 as freshie with only diploma. Add a few OTs and easily draw > s$3k month. Downside is working shift, 15 days work 15 days off.

Problem is a lot of Singaporean companies rate Malaysia local degrees as equal to poly. So unless you are overseas grad, local 1st class honour student from Bigger Unis like UM, or foreign uni set up in Malaysia, its very hard to get 3k.

I would think that Poly grads with science/ finance based diploma should start with 2.2-2.4k.

1.8k is really chopping you IMO. You roughly to spend 600-700 on rental, 300-400 on food, 50-100 on transport, and 30-50 on phone.

Whether being a muslim would affect your life in Singapore really depends on you. For example there are halal stores in most hawker centres, but the utensils might be mixed with other stalls. If you want to have lunch with your colleagues, be prepared to share a table with them even though they order pork. If you are not willing to "compromise" then you can be prepared to be quite lonely during non working hours/ lunch time.

Mosques may be located further away from your office, and dont expect that you can take 3-4 hours off every Friday to go for your prayers + snake.

yeah, thinking about the salary, now asking for 2300sgd, i dont mind sharing table with someone colleagues eating pork, just respect each other can liao thumbup.gif
