QUOTE(deodorant @ Mar 9 2015, 07:19 AM) Is it easier? In theory, yes. Being here you can attend interviews immediately when called, etc ... but ' how much easier' is hard to quantify. I know people (back when you could apply 1 year LTVP to look for job) who have taken over half a year to find a job even being here in SG. yeah i know the easier word is kinda vague here but what i meant was a better chance to get a job applying in sg than msia. is kinda hard to travel to sg everytime have an interview unless i can 100% score it

QUOTE(almeizer @ Mar 9 2015, 10:45 AM) You got the IPA letter? If you do, you may check with the custom officer whether you can use it to enter Singapore. Otherwise, just enter like normal using white card, don't need to specify anything, unless the officer ask you. It would be more convenient for both you and employer if you stay in SG and apply for job/ go for interview. just hope that it wont take long to get a job in sg as i was thinking to rent a room in sg

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Mar 9 2015, 11:18 AM) There is definitely an advantage applying jobs while you are in SG. But you have to consider the benefit-cost ratio. Are you expecting 2-3 interviews per day? Or 2-3 interviews per month? In the worst case scenario you get 0 for that month. Loaded enough for 1 month hotel stay in SG? my gf is working in sg so we most likely will move into master room or studio unit and hopefully able to get a job in a month time

QUOTE(aVexRikuu @ May 12 2015, 03:36 PM) if career advancement better than current - Go if got >20% pay raise from current - Go if title better than current - Go if none of the above then - dont go. fair enough QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ May 12 2015, 03:52 PM) 4k is even lower than my fresh grad pay 8 years ago. Thanks to the FTs with superb printed papers demanding low pay, now everybody get the sai. But nevermind, news say 4 people household 1.25k enough to buy essentials for living already. 3.5k you can feed 10 people liao. or maybe i only can blame myself for not being skilled in particular module to demand more :/

QUOTE(RecruitingTheBest @ May 25 2015, 08:58 AM) If SG is such a bad place to you, why don't you just stay in Malaysia and enjoy your EPF. No point ranting here. i think he just like to bash all the countries in aus thread, he will say sg,msia and other asia country the best to work but now in sg thread he says the other way round

QUOTE(kaneshi @ Sep 18 2015, 02:49 PM) Just wonder, if to work in SG and to bring along wife & 2 kids with $6k salary enough to survive? So far, I know renting a 3R flat and sending kids to childcare already cost $2.5k & $2k respectively. Any advice is very much appreciated u + wife with combined salary of $6k?
