QUOTE(dongding @ Jul 5 2015, 11:27 PM) Hi all, I am currently working in a MNC in KL but got an offer from a SG-based MNC. Have accepted the offer. As I have a 3-month notice to serve with my current company, I am thinking to resign now before my Employment Pass is done (new employer told me it will take another 2 weeks+ to get it done), Would like to hear your experience and view - do you resign before you got your EP? Have you signed the offer letter with new employer in Sg? If yes, then you can resign in your old company. EP for my case just within 2 working days I already got notified successful. Wow, your sg company can wait you for 3 months to start work? That's amazing you must be in niche and high demand work. C

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Jul 11 2015, 01:09 AM) We, Malaysian, want a competitive wage as what the Sgporeans are getting, but usually initially when we come, the firm will offer not as high as what we are getting in Malaysia dollar for dollar. That is what I meant. But the Indians, at least the ones that I deal with, are really good. I was informed their pay is not as high as hiring, say an Australian or European expat. The Indians mostly accept it, and they don't complain. This is because it is much higher than the rupees they will be getting back home. Depend on how you negotiate la..some malaysian can match dollar to dollar term in Sg but some willing to slash their remuneration by 30-40% because they always benchmark against myr.
