Hi everyone, how are you? I have been working in Singapore for quite some while, and am thinking if I should apply for a PR. I have some foreign friends who have been here for some time too but a big majority of them don't plan on applying for one since the "paycut" for CPF is pretty horrendous. I am hesitating if i should do the application, and would appreciate it if you could answer some of my questions. 1) say i apply for PR, got it, and don't renew it after. Will i be able to still work in singapore (not having done the renewal), AND will i be able to take out my CPF since I am no longer a PR? 2) i want to bring my parents to live in singapore. A search online indicates that there is this pass called long term visit pass. Can i apply for one if i am not a PR (some told me there are special provisions for malaysians?)? 3) or alternatively i can apply for the social visit pass? does it work like a normal tourist pass which means my parents can stay in singapore 60 out of 90 days?
Thank you for your help in advance. I have tried to search for the answers but the ICA website does not give clear answers. Actually, my decision to apply for a PR hinges on mainly bringing my parents over to SG, and if they can actually stay with me for long term without me being a PR, i might not consider applying for one.

Hi guys, actually, once we become a PR, it is considered as a permanent thing unless we renounce it (which means i will have to leave Singapore?) I am confused, because i have heard of "renewing" PR instead? What is this renewal thing? If i don't renew, that means i am renouncing?
Also, can i withdraw my application after i have applied?

Bonjour everyone! I am going to apply for a PR and have a few questions 1) How does one go about producing your translated SPM certificate? Has it first to be translated by an authorized translator, and then notarized? 2) I will not be able to produce my pay slips for the past 6 months since I got lost of them while moving recently. I however have asked my HR to give me a letter certifying that I have been employed together with my salary details. Is it sufficient? Please give me your insights on this.
Thank you.
