Guys, want to ask if my potential SG salary is worth it to take up. Or what should be a reasonable increase that you would consider appropriate?
Current MY Salary - RM15.2k gross, RM11k nett
Potential SG salary - SGD10k gross
From this, I'm assuming the following deductions : Tax - 15% = SGD1500 EPF -11% = SGD 1100 (confirmed SG Employer will be contributing so I have to contribute my portion as well) Rental - SGD1500 Food, transport, Bills etc - SGD1000
Balance SGD4900 x 2.45 (using an average long term rate) = RM12k
Hence, is it worth it to move to SG just for RM1k extra?

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Jan 10 2015, 09:51 PM) only PR and Singaporean have CPF, the rest don't have. Singapore tax is generally lower than Malaysia, probably just 50% of what you have projected here. If you need more info you could pm deodorant, he's among the elite few who hit $10k/month mark ( fiona chin pls confirm ). What industry are you in? It's not CPF but EPF. The employer has confirmed able to contribute to Malaysia EPF. The tax I believe is 15% for this salary bracket. Nevertless, would anyone suggest to move down for RM1k extra?

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jan 10 2015, 10:30 PM) You'll become PR as soon as you reach here? Work pass holder no need to pay CPF one wor (~EPF in M'sia). Btw... RM15k to SG10k is -50% d. That's quite a lot actually. From what I read before, normal case is just around 20% lower (RM10k become 8kSGD). Anyway... 10k SGD Really elite! It's EPF, not CPF. The company is willing to do this so as to existing benefits are maintained. Sure normally is just a 20% drop? SGD10k is the offer if I get the job. Will know more once job is confirmed.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 10 2015, 10:34 PM) Dafug is this calculation man. Malaysia no need to pay for housing, food, transport, etc? It's minimal. Most is already covered. So it still comes to circa RM1k extra only

QUOTE(knwong @ Jan 10 2015, 10:57 PM) You'll only be taxed sgd7950 and only gets to pay next year, it's not deducted monthly http://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/page03_ektid282.aspxWorth it to take up this job Thanks. I was under the impression that it's 15% flat for above 120k but looks like its only 15% for quantum above 120k till 160k. So it's about SGD600+ per month then.
