its pretty uncomfortable to live with a salary below s$2k. You might have to share a rented room, always budget on your meal, almost no extra for entertainment.
I always tell my work folks, they are the lucky ones, drawing s$2.5 as freshie with only diploma. Add a few OTs and easily draw > s$3k month. Downside is working shift, 15 days work 15 days off.

2.5?What are they working as?I have dip but my pay is nowhere near 2.5 even after OT doh.gif

Am using the self assessment tool via MOM website to check if i'm eligible to apply for Spass or not, however it seems like Kaplan is recognized by MOM.If the employer is willing to hire but the institution isn't in the list, does it mean most likely my application would get rejected? sad.gif

just ask yourself why can't you be the one. well at least my company odds are higher, maybe 1 in 2 O levels getting SPass and eventually E-Pass a few years down the road.
*
And which company would that be?Those with diplomas are having a tough time securing Spass and yet yours SPM can score..even E-pass some more.Talk about luck sweat.gif

For Network Engineering line huge MNC, the business is usually Telco (singtel, BT, AT&T, etc) or SI (D-Data, IBM, etc).
Never seen other that those which will pay 6-7k SGD for L2 role.....

But good to know that so now I know I am paid way way way below market range......

Network engineer..sounds like a job with good prospect.Any tips on landing a network engineering job here in Sg?I looked through Jobstreet but it seems like most of the employers are looking for senior staff with networking background.I will be graduating from my IT course soon, should i go for MCSA or CCNA first prior applying for jobs? blush.gif

Has anyone tried to apply for PR while holding an Spass?I have been working under WP for the past two years but finally managed to obtain spass after joining a new company.I know it's nowhere as qualified as EP..but still is it worth a try or should i wait a little longer until i work my way up to secure an employment pass first? hmm.gif
