Saw a picture from colleague (receipt) that the rate is 2.65 for one of the money changer in Bukit Indah. Not sure true or not.

Online rate is 2.67 now. I checked KL rate, it was 2.62. Slightly better than SG.

Industry? Fresh grad? 2k - 2.2k seems to be fair if you are fresh grad with diploma. If after probation got increment then it's better. However, if the annual leave is only 7 days, then it's a no no.

But with 2k, hardly you can save much with average lifestyle. Especially first 2 months, you can't save at all due to your expenses, rental and deposit for rental.

Below 2k is a bit low. You can ask for 2.2k above.

You rented the whole unit and you sublet the remaining rooms to other people. It is different story if you gather a group of friends who agree to rent the whole unit together and then one of you represent to sign the tenancy agreement and this person responsible for all the consequence i.e. collect deposit/rent from all people and pay the landlord.

Since you are renting the whole HDB flat, I suppose you already signed the tenancy agreement with landlord. How are you going to insert the 3rd person's name into the signed tenancy agreement? If any signed document can be amended easily then it's not genuine anymore.

Yup, it's none of my business. But don't bother to ask for help or post anything if you not providing sufficient information which cause misunderstand later. Did your advertising got deleted?

That sentence means the IPA is not an permanent pass for you to work in SG, you need to get the actual pass which is after medical report submitted. It does not mean you can't stay in SG with the IPA. You can still stay and work in SG, if police officer stopped you, you can just show the IPA without the need to show white card. Does the IPA state what is the validity?

4 years back after I got my IPA, I went back to Malaysia and custom officer took back the white card. Then when I re-enter SG, I only show the IPA and the officer let me pass (with valid passport of course). Well, it was 4 years ago, I'm not sure whether it's still work. It would be better you call to ICA to clarify. You may try to go JB and let the officer take your white card and re-enter SG shortly after with the IPA.

You can try Transtar. The more expensive bus provide meal on board.

You got the IPA letter? If you do, you may check with the custom officer whether you can use it to enter Singapore. Otherwise, just enter like normal using white card, don't need to specify anything, unless the officer ask you.


It would be more convenient for both you and employer if you stay in SG and apply for job/ go for interview.

You need to budget how long u can last by renting room in SG. Maybe you can opt to rent in JB and go in SG whenever you got interview. That way, the cost will be lesser.


But remember to pre-fill the white card also. In case IPA is not acceptable then you no need to re-queue.

As long as your wife does not deliver in Singapore then you are safe. Why? Read below sentence from MOM and understand the first statement, it used "or". Singapore cannot restrict you from pregnant since you are legally married. The last sentence say applies even after work permit is expired, cancelled or revoked, cannot be they disallowed you to get pregnant after your WP expired and went back to Malaysia. So the main point is cannot deliver in Singapore.

"Not get pregnant or deliver a child in Singapore during the validity of their Work Permit unless they are already married to a Singapore citizen or permanent resident with the approval of MOM. This applies even after their Work Permit is expired, cancelled or revoked."

Your wife don't need to cancel the WP, she can still work and entitled to 8 weeks paid and 4 weeks unpaid Maternity leave as long as she is covered under Employment Act and worked more than 3 months (and does not fall into the "not covered" category"). If you still not convince, then write to MOM and confirm. Their response quite fast. It serves as black and white for future arguments.

1. You can use cash but a lot more expensive than card. The card is call EzLink. You can use for MRT, Bus, LRT and Taxi. Even pay for food also can for certain merchandise only.
2. Depend on location, condition/type of the room, package (i.e. include aircond and utilities). It could be from 600 to 1200 per room.

Hope you have planned your route. All the best for your interview. Anyway, Ezlink card can be bought at any MRT station or 7-11. Price is SGD 12 with SGD 7 value inside.

Just divide by 3 now. Also include your salary in RM. E.g. S$ 2000 (RM 6000).
