Anyone know whether we still can access our internet banking account for dbs/posb when we're overseas? Does the iB Secure device still works overseas?

QUOTE(LiangZhuge @ Jan 1 2015, 07:44 PM) Confirm it will work, just be vary on the roaming part (SMS verification) as the SMS might be delayed reaching your phone when it is roaming. Once the SMS reached me (around 4 minutes) already time out when I was overseas. Now my M'sia ebanking account sms send to my old phone left at hometown. Quite troublesom when want to use Btw... Countdown at Vivocity (Harbourfront) really so disappointing. I thought so many ppl there should've something nice to see. Should've gone to Marina Bay/Raffles Place last night |

QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Jan 2 2015, 07:59 PM) Tak tau. I baru 4 months working, nothing is too detailed in the websites actually. Have to call them and ask perhaps.QUOTE(rawrkun @ Jan 2 2015, 09:56 PM) You can register with BEM even without any working experience as long as you've received your degree cert. but that's for Graduate Engineer registration. For Professional Engineer aka IR, you'll need at least 1 year of local experience before you can register. That's the case the last time I checked with them, but that was quite some time ago.. QUOTE(jitshiong @ Jan 3 2015, 03:03 PM) 1 year working experience in Malaysia still a requirement for PE. Better register as Graduate Engineer soonest, else u will waste all ur working experience. Just like rawrkun said. If registered as PE in SG, still have to retake PI in Malaysia after registering and also fulfill the same requirements. Then only u qualify as PE in Malaysia and can sign off drawings. But ain't that what washington accord is doing? Let PE in countries which signed that accord to work in other countries which signed. Not so sure. Maybe can't sign off. |

QUOTE(eiffel98 @ Jan 8 2015, 10:34 PM) Can consider Raffles Money Change Pte Ltd located at #20-03 Raffles Place Clifford Centre. Only SGD10 service charge per transaction (any amount) with competitive ex rate. Anyone here is using remittance instead of cash? Safe to use? |

QUOTE(ndragon @ Jan 8 2015, 11:28 PM) Just started working for 4 months can get 20k? 5k per month? I not so "elite" lo QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 8 2015, 11:28 PM) But raffles remittance gives you better rate than CIMB. Whether it's safe or not summoning alaskanbunny sgrealestate to clarify. Ya but i probably transfer just 1000~2000 each time. If that's the case, 10SGD = ~RM26, CIMB rate can be RM0.026 lower if I transfer 1000SGD yet still getting the same amount or can be RM0.013 lower if I transfer 2000SGD.And it's done through bank so most probably safe. Yesterday when rate goes up to 2.65 I saw someone post on FB cimb giving 2.64XX. So if that's the case probably I should consider opening CIMB account Btw... They always use Raffles? Rate seems to be spot on and when Ringgit burst to >2.6 in Nov/Dec; 30 minutes queue!! QUOTE(bearbear @ Jan 10 2015, 09:55 AM) Hi, what was the rate you saw and at which day? Er... Two days ago, 2.647 something. I also see people post one, I don't have CIMB account whether in SG/MY.If it is better than money changer I think I will proceed to open an acc with cimb next week Not better rate but it's definitely safer right? No transaction charge, just the conversion rate lower than money changer by a bit. Money transfer instantaneously also from SG to MY account. No need to go through 3rd party and no need to carry any form of cash. Anyone using CIMB can comment? |

QUOTE(centrio1981 @ Jan 10 2015, 08:44 PM) Guys, want to ask if my potential SG salary is worth it to take up. Or what should be a reasonable increase that you would consider appropriate? You'll become PR as soon as you reach here?Current MY Salary - RM15.2k gross, RM11k nett Potential SG salary - SGD10k gross From this, I'm assuming the following deductions : Tax - 15% = SGD1500 EPF -11% = SGD 1100 (confirmed SG Employer will be contributing so I have to contribute my portion as well) Rental - SGD1500 Food, transport, Bills etc - SGD1000 Balance SGD4900 x 2.45 (using an average long term rate) = RM12k Hence, is it worth it to move to SG just for RM1k extra? Work pass holder no need to pay CPF one wor (~EPF in M'sia). Btw... RM15k to SG10k is -50% d. That's quite a lot actually. From what I read before, normal case is just around 20% lower (RM10k become 8kSGD). Anyway... 10k SGD |

QUOTE(centrio1981 @ Jan 11 2015, 12:45 AM) It's EPF, not CPF. The company is willing to do this so as to existing benefits are maintained. Sure normally is just a 20% drop? SGD10k is the offer if I get the job. Will know more once job is confirmed. I'm not sure but some people said that. As for me, I just started, haven't even touch the 3k bracket. Nothing much I know about those high income bracket thingy For my level, yes it's possible to get even same salary as in M'sia. Or just 10~20% lower. For you all the high income group I not sure. I definitely save more than working in MY though. Considering that I don't and is impossible to buy a SG car but if work in M'sia sure need buy car. |

Suddenly system down, I want send money home also can't If got CIMB M'sia account, instant transfer. Other banks take few days according to the counter staff. QUOTE(studyboy @ Jan 14 2015, 09:00 PM) What do you mean decent? Would you want aircon and wifi as well for 650? My friend stays at Toh Guan and pays about 550 per month (no aircon). Good deal! 550 in fact is good deal! Now got one room, 2km from nearest MRT but can take bus to MRT, middle of EW line. 650 aircond wifi. Another nearer to MRT but also $650 still not sure got wifi/ac or not Aircond still ok... Got aircond also I on 1-2 hours only each day. Only sometimes sleep till forgot to off then very cold wake up off In fact I care more about WiFi Other rooms near Tiong Bahru, Redhill, Clementi etc want find 650 without AC also hard. Seriously expensive QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Jan 14 2015, 09:28 PM) 600-700 got what?Actually after going through the room rental sites, I almost come to think that... Places near East coast (eunos/bedok/paya lebar etc) actually easily as expensive as those towards the West (clementi, redhill, tiong bahru etc)... It's like on average, Singapore room rental is already at that level Unless go up north maybe can get 450 500 like that. Towards the south all so bloody expensive This post has been edited by IwanAGP: Jan 14 2015, 10:43 PM |
