QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Dec 15 2014, 10:29 AM) Just found out that my Singapore PR has approved after 4 months of waiting. But not sure what I need to do next. @_@ Anyone can enlighten me? you will receive a letter, they will ask you to make an appointment before a certain date (if not mistaken 3 months from approval date) https://eappointment.ica.gov.sg/ibook/index.do (PR - Completion of Formalities for Successful Applicants) This post has been edited by HenDa: Dec 15 2014, 03:07 PM

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jan 13 2015, 10:45 PM) Anyone use CIMB Speedsend before? Today saw the rate at their Currency Exchange Counter. Cash RM2.615 only but "Speedsend" 2.661. Asked about the charges the lady said around $5 for 2000 (not sure how true). But then... Suddenly system down, I want send money home also can't If got CIMB M'sia account, instant transfer. Other banks take few days according to the counter staff. I am using Citibank and can transfer between my SG and MSIA account instantly. As for rate, CIMB is always better compare to Citi

QUOTE(V-Zero @ Mar 10 2015, 12:22 AM) Not too sure about PM but don't be afraid to ask for 1:1 MYR:SGD pay. My SGD pay > MYR pay $ to $. Just ask, no harm. The headhunter got stunned for few secs upon knowing my expected.  one of the headhunter is doubting my ability when im asking too much i just save my energy to proof and stay at current company waiting for pay rise in a few months This post has been edited by HenDa: Mar 10 2015, 12:32 AM

QUOTE(beancountz @ Apr 3 2015, 02:35 PM) for $5k gross, after deducting CPF only get $4k take home pay. one master room rental $1.5k. Left with $2.5k to spend on basic necessities and savings. FYI, I am not a fan of branded goods. I don't buy any of those. Every meal eat hawker, chap fan, everyday take mrt, no cab. So, good life? Dont compare with RM5k la. RM is no where near that. I'm just asking, $5k, can live a good life? agree, can make some saving, but good life? work harder

If I manage to go back to audit, guess I wont come back to commercial. At least, audit is full of surprises How bout you? What are you doing for a living right now? if you continue to spoil her, she couldn't stand on her own and what if you are not around her

QUOTE(JasmineKeer @ Apr 28 2015, 11:49 PM) Since I am single, I have plenty of time to build up my career. Therefore, time is not an issue. What worries me is the cost... Which method is more cost effective... How much does it cost by travelling from JB to Singapore or vice versa nowadays? Please kindly advise because I'm just graduated and no clue at all... Thanks in advance! If you looking for long term gain, personally I will prefer to stay nearby office, shorter travelling time, cheaper travelling cost, you save time and medical cost, short saying, you live healthier from the stress of travelling long distance.

QUOTE(chow_shasha @ May 8 2015, 04:04 PM) Hi fellows. Anyone comutes daily from JB to SG for work? Any advice on time, mode, cost, duration, convenience and stress levels? Have an offer on the table but family to big to move to SG which means i need a SGD3k+ per month unit to rent. Kind education also a problem for my eldest who is in the midst of secondary school so he might not be able to cope mid way thru. My best thought up to now is to commute daily for the 1st year, while cashing out from everything i own in KL. Apply for PR. And 2nd year try to buy a decent place in SG then move the whole family. Any thoughts? with the condition of both married and having PR, and only after 3 years, then you may buy a re-sale HDB, otherwise I think you are aiming for condo.
