Have you considered Bendemeer area such as Towner, St George's & Boon Keng? I stayed in St George's area $700 per month. Ulu place like Punggol is $650 near MRT/LRT station. Might as well top up $50 to stay near Central area (aircond + wifi). Hawker centre and Value $/Good Price are just 5 minutes walk.
