QUOTE(KiNo123 @ Feb 28 2015, 05:31 PM) no my IPA says nothing about it, and to be worse, at the bottom of the letter it says " this IPA does not grant your stay in the Singapore, once arrival u need to get ur employer to get ur pass ASAP bla bla bla..." Bro, If i am not mistaken, ur IPA should be valid for at least 6 months? That was stated in my IPA, but of course it asked you to get the physical card as soon as u start working. In any case, I suggest you to call ICA and ask whether you can use your IPA when exiting and re-entering Singapore since you have not gotten your physical card yet. It should not take long though, once you go to MOM to take your photo, it's like 4 working days you can get it already. Get it done, it's important to open bank account and subscribe whatever services you want.

QUOTE(jungyu @ Mar 4 2015, 09:55 AM) Hi guys, I have issue with rental and lease agreement in singapore. Seeking for advice from anyone experienced the same or have knowledge in this aspect. I first sub-leased a common room from a couple under a Sub-lease Agreement. After 6 months, this couple left the country and before they left, they sub-lease their room to another couple and got their deposit back from the landlord. Since then, the landlord is the one in charge but we did not have any new agreement to 'transfer' my sub-lease to main lease. All the terms in my sub-lease agreement are directly towards the Primary Tenant. So now I decided to move out due to the Landlord wants to increase my rent $100 starting march (our lease ends in May). And I have found someone to replace my tenancy. Question is, what kind of lease agreement should this new tenant sign? a sub-lease with me as primary tenant (landlord registered me as Main tenant) or a lease directly between landlord and the new tenant? Hi Jungyu, how can the landlord suddenly raise the rent? The whole point of signing the tenancy agreement is to protect yourself also from the landlord, it's like u agreed to 6 months contract for $500, and then the second month the landlord suddenly say he wants you to pay $600. Don't think that's right. Most to most just negotiate with the landlord and see whether he can wait till May, or tell her that u already found a new tenant for him, but i thought all accommodation rental needs to go through agent ? LOL, This is confusing, let the experts reply then.

QUOTE(libragurlshirl @ Apr 3 2015, 05:57 PM) Thank goodness Fiona jie understands. She is 7 years younger than me. So when I was young, I was lonely, and when my sisters were born, they're my heaven! My parents leave them to me, i taught them everything I know. You'll be surprised how joyful it is seeing them growing into young lady, excel in their studies better than I do and talking back to you bout adulthood. She's a pure genius, excel in school since kindergarten, always top, and with all A+ I am sure u are a good sister. My brother went through whatever u are going through to put me in university. I am sure your sister will appreciate everything u do for her

QUOTE(iloveteddybear @ Apr 21 2015, 02:27 PM) If i'm offered a job in Singapore, is it 100% that my visa/work permit is approved? I've glanced through the immigration website and it says that there might be some circumstances that it will be rejected. So the problem here is can I work while the visa/work permit is under process? This is a really big problem as I need to plan and settle my acmodation and it requires deposit, fees etc. I wouldn't want to be rejected and having to pay for the rent for no reason Well, the possibility of getting it approved is quite high, anyway, just wait till they tell you it has been approved only go find an apartment. The landlord will require your pass as well, as long once u know it is approved, u will have your pass number where you can provide to the landlord first and tell them that u will provide your photostated pass when you got it.
