QUOTE(Garfie @ Apr 24 2009, 01:42 PM) I think this is where you are wrong. For the Big 4s they are still hiring at the moment, its just that the criterias have become more stringent. After all, right now supply outstrips demand, you can afford to be picky about your future employee and make sure you hire the best out of the pool of labour workforce. So essentially, yes they are being picky and hiring less, but that does not equate to not hiring at all. p/s: my 2 cents. But I Never Say They're Not Hiring~ Good Day~ Continue My Work~ This post has been edited by limshenghong: May 7 2009, 07:39 AM |

QUOTE(geo @ May 19 2009, 10:35 AM) I'm Very Sure That They're Still Recruiting,Jz That June Is Full And Sept Vacancies Are Almost All Taken Up~ However, Be Prepared For Da Tough Ride Ahead, Now Is Economy Downturn, Da Recruitment Drive Has Been Extremely Stringent, Even You Passed Every Assessment And Etc, Dont Be Happy Like Those Who Got It Last Year, Better Pray For Getting An Good Interviewer Da Interviever Will Decide Your Lifeline... QUOTE(AsamYew @ May 21 2009, 11:16 PM) I was required to sit for numerical and verbal reasoning tests, before finishing with essay writing. I forgot the name of the company that prepared the questions, but I would say that the level of difficulty for both papers is slightly higher than SHL direct's questions. The assessment ended with essay writing. Six topics were given, which cover financial and business issues relevant to today's economic climate. (I applied for audit btw) I've Got Very Difficult Questions To Answer In Da Interview , Many General Biz Knowledges And Technical Solutions Are Required The interview with the partner was helpful and constructive. It was relaxed and I believe PwC genuinely wants to know who we are, our interests, strengths and weaknesses etc. My tip is to be yourself. Remember to smile and be confident. QUOTE(Joshua836 @ May 28 2009, 11:16 PM) PwC, EY and KPMG are generally the major players in Malaysia and then comes Deloitte (with a gap in between). PwC- Huge ConglomerateRumour has it that, "D" in Malaysia is in fact the big joke in the financial industry. EY- Diverse & Wide Base Of Clients KPMG- Big Bro In Financial Institutions Field Deloitte- Da Best Tax Dept They're Known As Big4 For A Reason, And Da Reasons Are Per Above. Each Has Their Pros & Cons. Just My 2 Cents. This post has been edited by limshenghong: May 29 2009, 02:39 PM |

It's da client you get to audit & those special task opportunities given, rather than your firm that make all da differences.
Special task? Examples are like due diligence or maybe secondments =) Often people are misled by da glamorous of da firm instead of their own career development. Even with da best firms, your brain will still filled with peanuts if you don't appreciate and enjoy the beauty of audit works. |
