hi everyone out there, need some info here on recruitment of acca grads.

for an OBU degree grad, am i able to get into the Big 4?

does Big 4 accept OBU degree grad or just professionals finishing ACCA Part 3?

how much would be the market salary scope for an OBU grad in the Big 4?

is it advisable for me to apply in the Big 4 or better in medium-small size accounting firm to gain some experience while continuing my studies in the professional level?

any suggestion do help me out! Thanks guys!

I know that in PwC, you need to have either a degree or ACCA to join as a new associate - starting salary RM2,600+.

However, they don't usually encourage those who are still pursuing their ACCA to join, but on rare occasion that they take in, you will enter as a tax assistant - salary around RM1,500+.

note: salary numbers there are pre-July 2008 adjustments made in PwC.

The actual work that you do would be as a tax assistant is the same as an associate so I personally feel that it's no point entering PwC and getting chicken feed for the same responsibilities.

I am not sure about the other Big 4's. So others, kindly update on his query.

thanks for the advise smile.gif i would deeply consider that.
hmphh, by the way is it that in most situations they'll allocate u to the tax department? or any other department such as external audit upon request?
if as for other working field with salary of rm1500 that would be quite pleasant tongue.gif
any other ppl out there who can provide me with more detailed info?
appreciate a lot for it!

one more thing, since the working is so tense in the big 4, any small-medium size accounting firm to recommend best for an OBU degree student to gain sufficient experience & furthermore enhance knowledge in ACCA part 3 studies?

anyone who can double confirm the market rate of an OBU degree working either in the big 4 or any other accounting firms?

Why the 'addiction' over salary difference?

Seriously, as a freshie, you ought to be more interested in gaining your practical and real life knowledge that will be beneficial in the long-term. And at the same time be happy at what you are doing.

I doubt if there would be any difference in salaries between the various classes. The only one's who would have a slightly higher salary would be prize winner's I guess...and within 1 year later, your salary would be based on your actual performance no matter if you are 1st class honours or honour-less.

just trying to get in hand how's the market out there. plus if the salary is descent enough to support myself on studies i might consider goin in after i'd done my degree. if not i would just continue my life as a full time student after i completed acca to fully concentrate, although family's condition is tight for the moment. and kinda pushing me to work while supporting myself.
guess rm2400 for a freshie degree is considered good and have the advantage over working experience rite? in the mean time i would be able to go through some pratical training too..that's great smile.gif
so PwC, KPMG, EY or Deloitte? which do u recommend?

guys, there's sth i would like to figure it out.

from what i heard, the big4 usually.. or should i say RARELY recruit grads with only OBU degree. is it true?
conclusion, they only look forward to part 3 qualified acca grads.
or do they get the part 3 grads as priority n then only refer back to OBU degree grads?
if in this case, gosh!!
what is the possibility of an OBU degree grad to make it into the big4?

thanks!
