i think the prices are quite steep..and for the 3 to 4 k laptop most equipped with i5 processor only and 2gb version of gtx860m...cant find any 4gb version of the gtx 860m and i7 proc price after upgrade is about 4k (their recommended upgrade)..

that would be the barebone option which most manufacturer don't actually provide that.

i can do that in illegear website. I want to upgrade my laptop, but going for now, my current laptop got like garbage price offers, if i can save like rm200 for hdd (which I already hv a plextor L9S not used) and save another rm200 for ram (which I can just use my current 4GB in my current laptop) and after I got another paycheck I can just buy another 12gb later maybe in jan or feb.... rm400 is a godsend saving....

Too bad I already bought my last gaming laptop.

but storm is check what problem and repair at malaysia or sent to singapore repair then only sent back to malaysia

The difference for desktop I5 and I7 units is not as profound as it is in laptops (since the w series uses desktop CPUs.

The reason is that most laptop i5 Units are dual core units while laptop i7 units are most quad core, while for desktop models, i5 and i7 and both most quads.

I just collected my Aftershock S-17 (GTX 980m) from TechArmory

Out of the box, the laptop was dirty ( finger prints, body fluids on laptop cover and keyboard and dandruff on keyboard ). The people servicing me notice the issue and was quick to resolved it...

Then proceeded to test the hardware. Couldn't run any graphic benchmark coz they forgot to install the graphic card driver, lol. Ratified the issue there eventually.

The guy servicing me claimed that they do test it with Furmark , funny is I wonder how they test cause first boot, need to key in the Windows CD key to proceed ... So i doubt they even tested it ... Anyway, doesn't matter la, as long it works, syukur la ...

Ran Heavy 4.0 benchmark for 10 minutes, GPU max temperature is 75 Celsius (ambient temperature 23 Celsius) and maintains around there, falling a bit. Acceptable.. Noise generated by fan is lesser then GT70 , quiet good in my opinion for a slim laptop. Yeah, I do "feel" that the power brick is slimmer (the depth) compare to MSI's GT70 and above series..

Came back, just realize the screen bottom padding also falling off , not glued properly.. but ok la, very small issue, I just push it back and when it drops off in the future, I glue it back..

Overall, customer service was very good. They allowed me to do the necessary stuff like benchmark , temperature testing and etc on the spot. They also ratified the issue with the graphic card on the spot.

To me, this all are very small issues la and overall, I am very happy to own this unit.
