Nice thread! rclxms.gif

Arsenal v Blackburn. Blackburn's keeper Friedel had the ball in his hand, he let go of the ball to kick it high away but Henry just coooolly nicked it and Friedel was left kicking air.

That really dropped my jaw. shocking.gif Too bad the goal didnt count.

Same thinig happen to Sebastion Frey before at the season opener few seasons back..but he let the ball off on ground and not knowing that there were a player behind him. So that player just kicked it into the net and the goal stands laugh.gif

BTW where is he playing now ? unsure.gif

once i saw a clip of a game in a really bad pitch, the ball was shot weakly and it rolls towards the keeper and when the keeper lowers his body to pick up the mid-paced rolling ball, the ball hit a bump" and it bounced up, over the keeper and into the net.

i once saw a blunder by a linesman, i forgot who play who but i think one of them is newcastle. the ball just rolled out just about one feet near the linesman for throw in but the linesman pointed his flag to the corner. a corner againts newcastle i think.

Back when Paolo Di Canio was still in West Ham (forgot which year tongue.gif, think it was 2000 or 2001 ), the match against Everton where he stopped and didn't score an open goal against an injured former Everton goalkeeper Paul Gerard. That was the one that won him the Fair Play award.

To me, even though it's the ultimate act of sportsmanship, but truthfully speaking, how many players today would actually do that if they were in the same situation? An example i saw the other day was Barca vs Letvski Sofia, when Gio was down injured, all the Sofia players already saw what happened yet they continued to attack Barca, even when the whole team was calling the ref to stop the game... vmad.gif ...this kind of act has really become a rare commodity in today's games...therefore, the Di Canio incident would be the craziest/strangest, but the most respectful thing I've seen in football notworthy.gif .

hahaha! David Seaman I think.
the craziest thing I think i've ever saw was Diego Forlan vs Sunderland (or was it Southampton)

he scored, opened his shirt, ran around like nuts. then kick off, he was unable to wear his shirt back on because he had a hard time trying to wear it laugh.gif

end up he was playing without a shirt on for a while.

Ah if you talk about fairplay then you have to mention Robbie Fowler's remonstration after his was adjuged to have been brought down by David Seaman. Fowler got up and waved his finger at the ref indicating that it wasn't a foul. Strangely the ref decided to uphold his decision and a penalty was awarded. Justice was done in the end as Patrick Berger was it? skied it.

Actually Robbie took the penalty, but keeper saved - and a Liverpool defender, forgot his name... scored from the rebound.

I can't remember which season it was but the tabloids were speculating that Sol Campbell was gay. The next match after the story broke, a streaker came onto the field with a message for Campbell written across his back and an arrow pointing to his a$$h0le.

Funny thing was that the cameraman tracked the streaker for a good few minutes and Astro didn't even censor it. Why isn't there any female streakers?

Which reminds me of another case where a goalkeeper went forward and scored, he was so excited that he overcelebrated while the other team kicked off and scored!
