i tot u have 1k, coz u said 600 and 400 each amp.
if 600 only i suggest u save up some more la, around 800 maybe can get alpine
pre amp depends la what type. if its the normal cheap equiliser type, i not recommended la, make your system noisier. better use that budget for new head unit, nowadays come with equiliser built in.

What jargons? mind to share? If you don't tell us what you do not understand, then we also cannot explain to you what you would like to know. As usual, change the front speaker first.

If front do not have speaker hole, then will need to drill a hole and a mould to hold your speaker. You mean RCA is it? It is an output at the back of your HU, for connection to your amplifier. Start slowly first, unless you have a deep pocket...

just extra 2 frequency bands = more control. if you're buying preamp due not enuf rca, its actually better to upgrade HU instead.
capacitor = think of it as power resovoir

QUOTE(fueifuei @ Aug 22 2010, 07:02 PM) hey guys i wanna ask what mean by 5band pre-amp and 7band pre-amp? what the different? and "capitor"donknow how to spell =/ what the thing use for? only for saving battery power? 5 band give u 5 tuning frequency range...the freq tuning curve are more wider than 7 band. so when u tune like say 800hz, it will effect from 400-1.2khz.. if u got 7band, it will only affect 600-1khz....which give you more accurate result that's called "Q factor" in EQ

7band better. Think of it as 7string guitar will play more freq accurately than 5string guitar. HU--->pre-amp----->amp
again, if you're gonna buy a pre-amp for freq tuning, you might as well get a better HU with EQ built in.

QUOTE(fueifuei @ Sep 1 2010, 07:45 PM) my new kenwood hu got eq built in =) mmm..going check for pre amp in holiday haha thanks ya check if ur HU need pre-amp or not. if dun need, dun buy. juz connect HU -> amp mostly ppl buy pre-amp is bcuz they use low end HU. some juz buy bcuz they think it looks cool. it's better to upgrade HU rather than add pre-amp. if u have good HU, good amp but bad pre-amp...it'll juz kacau the signal This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Sep 1 2010, 08:14 PM
