Do a speedtest with and without 4G enabled and you should be able to see a difference.

That doesn't look like 4G speed to me, the download speed is worse than that of 3G. You may need to check in a different area with 4G signal, but if the results are the same then give maxis a call and see what is their feedback.

No additional payment - just slower speed when exceed your quota.

Yes, same here. My cousin just switched from Maxis to U Mobile (the RM70 plan for 7GB data one) and she's complaining that she got ripped off coz although in the coverage map it showed that her house area has 4G in reality she is now only getting 3G.

Yes, I noticed the maxis 4G dropping to 3G every now and then but so far I've not had problems with my unifi. Could it be the area? I live in Klang and so far no issues

Yup, iPhone sales have declined globally so Apple is probably getting Telcos to help out. That said, it's still a very expensive plan (Maxis One Plan RM158 minimum) compared to what other telcos are offering.

Yes, but there is a MYR30 for a machines+ membership - but it's a great deal, RM500 off!

You potentially can save up to RM1000 or more with a contract from maxis but bear in mind two very important things - you will be tied to a 24 months contract and maxis has the most expensive plan compared to all other telcos.

Only problem is I can't even get 3G at my home with Celcom, ha ha..

I'm still under contract for another 18 months or so having signed up during the 6S Plus launch, so I know I'm screwed, ha ha ha... But hopefully this will help others who are considering maxis. I'm definitely porting out once my contracts end. I choose sucky service over lack of integrity at any given moment.

It is if you make very little calls - the call rates are expensive for that plan. Anyways, I've never complained about their measly 3GB for RM128 till now, but the double standards is just absolutely the last straw. I've been actively trolling them all weekend

Well, I'm on contract and won't be going anywhere but I hope those who aren't and threatened on social media to port out really did so... Otherwise they will continue to play us for fools...

I just sent them a PM enquiring about my penalty. Celcom's RM80 promo is until the end of this month only, so if I find that I can recover the penalty in savings from switching to another telco then I'll do it. Even if their coverage or service isn't as good as maxis, I can't be bothered. Hate double standards.

Then I guess you must be one of the chosen ones! It's pretty much legit but if your monthly usage isn't that much then it's pointless. But it's a good deal, though I'm wondering why it's 78 when most others got offered it at 68.

I believe there is a contract. If you want to buy the phone without a contract, why would you consider getting from maxis? There are better deals elsewhere e.g. 11street or Gemfive

Previously when the maxis OnePlan 128 only offered 3GB quota I monitored my data usage vigorously, and the iPhone usage data is slightly lower than that of the maxis app, but not by that much. Can't remember the exact details but I'm sure if it was a very big difference I would have made some noise at maxis.
