QUOTE(ephunk @ Jan 19 2016, 08:33 PM) Hye all sifu, Im hotlink user with plan "Bagus WM". Im no so familiar with the plan.. I think I stick with this plan more than 10 years maybe.. Because I cant find this plan on their site.. Since I just upgrade my sim card which have ability to connect to 4G/LTE.. The question is, do I need to upgrade to "Hotlink Fast Plan" to enjoy 4G connection? Because right now the carrier shows 4G when Im in 4G region and from what I observed, there is no obvious different when connect to 4G compare to 3G Do a speedtest with and without 4G enabled and you should be able to see a difference.

QUOTE(ephunk @ Jan 21 2016, 07:02 AM) 3G: Ping 46 Upload 1.19 Download 6.37 4G Ping 22 Upload 2.32 Download 5.76 So how? That doesn't look like 4G speed to me, the download speed is worse than that of 3G. You may need to check in a different area with 4G signal, but if the results are the same then give maxis a call and see what is their feedback.

QUOTE(ftan @ Feb 10 2016, 02:24 PM) Hmm. I just converted to surfmore 50 after my iPhone plan ended. It was such a quick and smooth change. Other providers seems better. But so far, maxis coverage works well for me at home and work. I'm afraid to try other telco. Yes, same here. My cousin just switched from Maxis to U Mobile (the RM70 plan for 7GB data one) and she's complaining that she got ripped off coz although in the coverage map it showed that her house area has 4G in reality she is now only getting 3G. I guess in the end we get what we pay for

QUOTE(ftan @ Feb 11 2016, 09:09 PM) Umobile coverage is just ok around this area. I have the prepaid version. Cheap but not necessarily reliable. Some area the speed is crawling but with my maxis, it's great. But lately, I noticed Maxis dropping to 3G frequently. I also noticed when my unifi is intermittently down, then Maxis is also down to 3G and starts crawling. Happens quite often esp the last few weeks. Are they linked (leasing the lines, etc)? Yes, I noticed the maxis 4G dropping to 3G every now and then but so far I've not had problems with my unifi. Could it be the area? I live in Klang and so far no issues

QUOTE(rayzel @ Feb 17 2016, 07:41 AM) Wow Maxis is offering the zerolution plan for all iphone6s variants... Very tempting... Could be very low sale.. And free 20GB data (4GB x 5 months) Yup, iPhone sales have declined globally so Apple is probably getting Telcos to help out. That said, it's still a very expensive plan (Maxis One Plan RM158 minimum) compared to what other telcos are offering.

QUOTE(Ryk @ Feb 22 2016, 10:28 AM) Hello all! My 4S is currently almost dead anytime soon, wish to upgrade my phone. Just check out Maxis zerolution plan seem interesting, but not really sure whether is worth. I'm Digi user, but last time I bought phone directly from Apple and sign Digi plan. Could anyone advise me? QUOTE(sai86 @ Feb 22 2016, 10:42 AM) I think getting from Machines is much better deal. http://www.machines.com.my/iPhone6s_Feb_promo.phpYes, but there is a MYR30 for a machines+ membership - but it's a great deal, RM500 off! You potentially can save up to RM1000 or more with a contract from maxis but bear in mind two very important things - you will be tied to a 24 months contract and maxis has the most expensive plan compared to all other telcos.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Feb 22 2016, 12:54 PM) That is a blardee good deal... And Celcom's coverage on 4G is second best to Maxis. Only problem is I can't even get 3G at my home with Celcom, ha ha..

Well, firstly, my apologies if this is slightly out of topic, but I'm trying to gather as many disgruntled maxis customers (especially if your contract is nearly or already over) to let your feelings be known to maxis about their recently introduced plan especially for East Malaysians. http://www.lowyat.net/2016/97911/maxis-now...-for-rm68month/There's also a couple of threads in the Maxis Telco thread with regards to this: - https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=79074716https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3890167Do leave some comments (civilized ones only, of course) if you feel inclined to. I'm still under contract for another 18 months or so having signed up during the 6S Plus launch, so I know I'm screwed, ha ha ha... But hopefully this will help others who are considering maxis. I'm definitely porting out once my contracts end. I choose sucky service over lack of integrity at any given moment. This post has been edited by attw: Mar 12 2016, 09:58 PM

QUOTE(dino89 @ Mar 13 2016, 10:07 PM) Lol and i thought my Maxis Surfmore 75 was good It is if you make very little calls - the call rates are expensive for that plan. Anyways, I've never complained about their measly 3GB for RM128 till now, but the double standards is just absolutely the last straw. I've been actively trolling them all weekend https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3893221This post has been edited by attw: Mar 13 2016, 10:19 PM

QUOTE(dino89 @ Mar 13 2016, 10:27 PM) My monthly bills average around RM100+. Looking at the East Malaysia plans, I subscribe to MaxisOne 98 so good can get 7GB, heck I might even subscribe to the MaxisOne 128 can get 9GB. Can see actually Maxis plan was to lure East Malaysians to subscribe, but instead backfiring on them by West Malaysians QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Mar 13 2016, 10:58 PM) i think they make a huge mistake by introducing the price so low that the customers in the peninsular feel left out. that's the last thing u want customers to feel. Well, I'm on contract and won't be going anywhere but I hope those who aren't and threatened on social media to port out really did so... Otherwise they will continue to play us for fools...

QUOTE(hown @ Mar 14 2016, 10:42 PM) Yes , add me in. Im freaking fed up with Maxis. Had the urge to pay penalty straight and go DiGi I just sent them a PM enquiring about my penalty. Celcom's RM80 promo is until the end of this month only, so if I find that I can recover the penalty in savings from switching to another telco then I'll do it. Even if their coverage or service isn't as good as maxis, I can't be bothered. Hate double standards.

QUOTE(ftan @ Mar 19 2016, 01:13 PM) Maxis just called me to offer a similar plan - 5gb, unlimited calls n sms. Price is $78 after lifetime rebate $20. Anyone got such a call? Is it legit? I'm quite happy with my current surfmore $50 plan. So, told the person I would think about it. Then I guess you must be one of the chosen ones! It's pretty much legit but if your monthly usage isn't that much then it's pointless. But it's a good deal, though I'm wondering why it's 78 when most others got offered it at 68.

QUOTE(grannycookies @ Aug 11 2016, 08:49 PM) Hi guys, Is buying from Maxis can without a contract? because some people said can and others said can't :/ I believe there is a contract. If you want to buy the phone without a contract, why would you consider getting from maxis? There are better deals elsewhere e.g. 11street or Gemfive

QUOTE(ameenskywalker @ Aug 17 2016, 07:12 AM) Has anyone compared their Mobile Data Usage Statistic on iPhone vs Maxis App ? Previously when the maxis OnePlan 128 only offered 3GB quota I monitored my data usage vigorously, and the iPhone usage data is slightly lower than that of the maxis app, but not by that much. Can't remember the exact details but I'm sure if it was a very big difference I would have made some noise at maxis.
