Anyone know which cards that are using the similar material as the Watson VIP card (matte finish)? I'm currently using the custom photo card, and it is peeling off. Prefer the matte finish one as it can last longer.

agree.

matte card surface is purely cardbody. those glossy surface are because of laminate on top of cardbody, which will peel over time. remember our mykad last time? laugh.gif nowadays, mykad's laminate (a laminate with security feature) doesnt cover edge-to-edge just to prevent peeling due to usage.

ok here's the deal replacing watson's vip-tng card.

1) watson's will not call you. you must walk-in to watson's outlet to get a replacement card. the staff perviously i asked was given wrong info. below is the replacement pack...

2) the pack consists of a new card, manufacturing mm/yy of 09/16 (the one i'm getting), and RM10 watson e-voucher (for online portal, obviously).

3) replacement pack is FOC, for now, until May 2017. Staff told me there will be a fee to get newer card if replacement done after May 2017.

4) essentially, staff perform new card registration on their POS system. purpose is to automatically transfer watson's vip points from old -> new card, within 2 hours.

5) existing tng credit, must perform credit transfer at TNG hubs. refer above screenshot for location.

6) both cards are actually still valid for use. newer card (> jun 2014 manufacturing mm/yy) can do payment + toll/parking. older card (< jun 2014) can only do toll/parking, cannot do payment. this is annoying as i dont want to carry 2 tng cards for different purposes. vmad.gif

Thanks for this detailed and clear information. Will go to Watsons and get my replacement card.

The info I was told by 1Utama Watsons was similar to your initial (wrong) info - that Watsons will contact us. Seems like they now have updated info.

never ending saga for this ...

called TnG whether credit transfer is possible. answer: not possible.

they can only refund the old card's tng credit (full amount) to your bank account.

no processing fee.

for new card, reload as normal.


decided NOT to perform refund now because need to travel during the CNY weekend. will do this after CNY holiday break.

Yeh I was told the same. They said can credit transfer to new cards issued at the hub at the time of transfer, but if you have a card (new or existing) issued outside the hub, then can only refund. I'm going to bring all my old cards to the hub and get them refunded. Not sure how long it will take.

Wow, thanks! I was given wrong information by the telephone CS then. Going to call this afternoon and ask if I can get a refund over the phone. Have got so many of those old cards given during company events and CC acquisition offers.

that's why i was surprised too. hopefully can take advantage to perform refund over the phone without any fee.

under normal circumstances, voluntary card termination (and credit refund to bank SA) will incur RM5 processing fee.

I just bought a PlusMiles Touch N Go card in Sungai Besi tol.

Upon purchasing the card, it was stated that the card will expire in 12/25. AFAIK, the card is suppose to have 10 years which means this newly bought card has lifespan of 8 years left.

I went back to the counter and according to the lady, she checks upon the system, she assures me it's 10 years from the date I purchased.

Couldn't be convinced, I called up Touch N Go Hotline. They told me to call up PlusMiles hotline, since the card is supply by PlusMiles.

After calling up PlusMiles, they advise me to register online first which I couldn't because the card is still inactive due to new card with transaction yet. I will try again after my first transaction at the tol.

Anyone face before such issue?

TLDR : Bought a new card, instead of 10 years lifespan it has only 8 years left. Will verify with PlusMiles later.

Updated - Registered online at TnG portal. Expiry shows 10 years later. So it's okay.

finally gotten my PLUSMiles TnG upgraded to the latest version yawn.gif

long story:
exit KLIA toll - asked CS bout the upgrade but was told no such thing, even after I showed them the printout from TnG and told them plusmiles FB replied me got mad.gif vmad.gif ranting.gif
exit USJ toll - asked CS but was told no such thing again, after reading the printout she decided to call HQ and chk, finally aware there's such a thing. However cannot transfer balance to new card, have to fill up form request to terminate and balance will bank in to my bank account. Then was told the card need to charge RM10.60 doh.gif I told her like that it's not free upgrade dy, requested her to chk with HQ again. In the end receipt showing RM20.60 (RM10.60 for the card and RM10 top up to activate) but I paid only RM10 and the card has RM10 balance. Kudos to the staff for taking initiative to chk with HQ. thumbup.gif

now another problem, i still hv 803 points in my old PLUSMiles which has been cancelled. Now requesting plusmiles FB cs to try to transfer to new card rclxub.gif

if u no use that touch n go to swipe for retailer.

No really worth the effort to upgrade it.

expiry 2023, but now with new card i get longer expiry
i got balance RM500+, reloaded when hv 5% cash back, so it's gd to get the refund back to my bank acc brows.gif
