An Acer Aspire V Nitro user here. I found that the battery area is extremely hot when gaming and some of the keyboard area are hot too especially the right side, and also facing sudden frame drops when the laptop is hot. Guess need a better cooling pad. Currently using so-so cooling pad. Any other owners have this problem?

Bro how hot is hot? Try install HWmonitor and see your temperature while gaming. Im interested to know your temperature cause i game on my v-nitro it doesnt get hot, i mean doesnt feel hot at all. Just a little bit warm only on right palm (hard disk area or battery? Not sure right is harddisk or battery, i think its harddisk). nod.gif

I think depend on which wifi card you using lo. For old stock I think they're not using Intel wifi card. So there's a problem on it lo.. New stock is using Intel wifi card I believe

My unit is the old stock with atheros card. nod.gif

Just bought lenovo y50 which use atheros card (malaysia set) And its terrible. Gaming (dota2) dc every few seconds, download speed half of what it is supposed to be. This happen during 3/5 bars network reception. Returned it the next day. Now not sure to get this or not. and yes network card matters. Especially atheros. Not sure source but i see most review for this laptop (atheros card) say the wifi is terrible.

And also abit confused, Screen is ips/led/lcd? The new model with intel wifi.

Weird. I never had any problem with my atheros card. In fact i found it to be much more stable and faster compared to my previous laptop. sweat.gif acer v nitro use ips display bro. Doesnt matter new model or old. The difference is only the wifi card. nod.gif

Oh you own one? How is it?  Any problems?  And just out of curiousity why are you selling yours?

I like to test gadgets bro. Plus its been a while since i last played games. Already test out few games and im quite impressed with its performance. No no problems at all just that its time to test other stuff. Hehe. smile.gif my last gaming laptop is Y500 and the difference is quite significant! nod.gif

have fun. I suggest you read the entire thread.

I agree the Atheros card is perfect when the wifi is strong. But try using it in slightly weaker conditions smile.gif . The problem with on-the-go is you cannot guarantee how strong your wifi will be.
Where i get 3-4 bars with a dell on 7260, i get 1 bar and packet drops on the atheros.

i see, so far my wifi card has been good to me, never fail on me yet. maybe i'll try and see whether drop connection or not if i stayed a little bit far from router. but so far all places ive been all got full signal. laugh.gif sweat.gif
