Hi..just got my EB Premium last week WA 4### X. Done only 300km due to raining all week.
My car also got knocking sound when going slow especially during traffic jam stop and go.
Suspected something loose near the gearbox or CV joint but the CVT behave normally.
Will check at Service Center when reach 1000km for first service.

already rectified.. COSE shah alam change gearbox mounting and engine mounting.. no more annoying sound..

Sorry to tuan tanah for a long story below.

Just want to do some LYN blogging about my EB. Bought in December 2014 from a very nice salesman in Seri Kembangan. Got a good tinted film with warranty from MACGEVER TINT,Kuchai Lama.First thing i noticed in day one is burning smell coming from the engine and secondly right door panel trim is crooked. Salesman advice me to use the car first and list down any problem that i can find and complaint it to service center during first service.After a few weeks, no more burning smell but new "kluk-klak" sound coming from gearbox during stop and go. From reading LYN forum, the symptom is too familiar as a lot of EB owner had it but it's o.k as i know proton will happily repair it.

My first 1000km mandatory service is kinda failed. I went to proton service center at bukit serdang to do service and check the 'kluk-klak" sound but they said they cannot do it because no spare part. Advice me to go to COSE shah alam. So i went there without any appointment, and all behold..i can't service the car or check the problem. So , make the appointment, and live with the problem for another 1000+ km. So, my first service is at 2000+km at COSE shah alam..has to wait there from 9am to 4.30pm..too long, too bored..luckily there are cafe at first floor. They change gearbox mounting and engine mounting. Happily get my exora back but right door trim panel has to be order.

All well for a few weeks but the "kluk-klak" sound appear again. Call COSE shah alam about my door trim panel order..but no one there can tell me wether the item has arrived or not. After a few calls and finger pointing and fedup with their ordering system..i make an appointment and went there..the service guy told me my door trim panel has been given to other car and need to order again. He give his personal HP number but after a few weeks and a few calls..he lost his memory and he has been transfer to another service center, he dont know me, no receipt, i dont know what you are talking about, not in the system.. etc. etc. you know what i mean..went again to COSE shah alam.. the receptionist give me new receipt for new order and she cancel the old order plus she give me the phone number to the part order/parts store department..after another few weeks and another few calls direct to part order department..they told me the item is in the store..yeay! make appointment and went there again..meet with another service guy..tell him to change the door trim panel and check the "kluk-klak" sound..wait from 9am to 4pm..tired, boring, wasting time..change the door panel and change gearbox mounting and engine mounting and the mechanic add a few washer between the mounting thingy..got my exora back and it is perfect again..

So , in conclusion...

1. If you can , go to COSE shah alam because the mechanic is well trained and know all the tricks
2. Get the name and phone number and write it on a piece of paper of whoever you meet at the service center. If you dont know who you talk to, you will be having problem next time you want to complaint or claim for warranty. There will be question like "siapa yang buat kereta you dulu? siapa yang order? siapa yang you jumpa? siapa yang check kereta you?"
3. If you go to COSE shah alam, bring power bank/laptop etc. because you have to wait 6-7 hours easily. Or left your car there and get it again around 4pm

For the car

1. Best bang for the buck. Period.
2. Quality is good enough for the money but not up to japanese or continental car.
3. Fuel consumption. In highway, around 7-10 is typical, around town, between 10-14 depending on how you drive. If you are heavy footed, this car will drink petrol like teh o ais. That's why proton drop the Charge Fuel Efficiency CFE logo and replace it with TURBO.
4. Sparepart easy to get but expensive
5. Sound insulation not great but good enough.
6. CVT gearbox is great but slow to respond
7. Aircond is the best in it's class

Do and dont

1. If you can , spend a bit more and insist on checking all wheels for camber/alignment once in a while because usually, mechanic only check front tyre camber/alignment only.
2. Do not turn off the engine abruptly. Let it run a few second more before shutdown to cool the turbo and to let the
temperature sensor take the proper coolent temp. to run radiator fan or not.
3. Buy bluetooth OBD2 module (around RM40) to clear error on your dashboard and to know how your car is doing
4. Buy cigarette plug-in voltage display to know your battery status. Exora use a lot of electrical power to run turbo pump, electric vacum pump, radiator fan etc. after you shutdown your car. So, you can prepare to buy new battery.
5. Rear wind screen easily got dirty due to MPV's body shape. The wind pick up dirt/dust/rain water and throw it to the rear wind screen. So, bring your microfiber towel to wipe it everyday.
6. Do NOT put TRD, MUGEN, RalliArt, AMG, etc. stickers on your EB. Make me want to puke.

Extra

1. I found out the video player works great using .avi xvid/divx (smaller file size) and .mpg MPEG2 (bigger file size) using standard definition (PAL).
2. Highest top speed i dare is 160km/h chasing another red/maroon EB but it can go 180+ easily if you want to die/arrive early
3. Your wife, father, mother and in laws will love you because they will hitchhike your Exora rather than using their own car
4. One time i hit a dog in a dark road near sungai siput at night (the dog survive). I broke front intercooler cover (the black plastic on the front bumper). Dont know where to get it and how much it cost. Found in mudah, BISON full front bumper..painted and with fog light for RM850 in Bangi. Very tempting but no money to spend yet.
