Going to get this car... Shall I wait till Jan'15 only take the car?

Question wanna ask...

How soon you will go to do sound/heat proof on your car?
After warranty? or within warranty?

I'm interested to get it done by shorty...any comment whether the effects are really noticeable?

I'm asking as seen pictures that they dismantle whole seats to do the proofing...so later if got squeak sound from seats, will the Service Center ignore our claim -.-"

Yes, it will give a lot of difference and you can really feel the difference....
Best method is to do one by one and you can enjoy it....

Do a good study before you do as there are lots of materials available in the market and some are very cheap but not good....

I started with the Wheel arcs first.... (with a normal brand) which will decrease the road noice coming from the tyres....
Next I did the 1st layer for all the 4 doors... (using dynamat)

This itself makes a big difference....

The rest I did myself....
The whole flooring... was on MC the next day smile.gif ... (using a Japanese material)
And another day the whole top.... and 2nd layer for Doors....
It really makes a huge difference.....

Guys, I DIY 3 point from engine top mount to batt -ve terminal... Do observe the ignition/start is much smoother & lighter.  icon_idea.gif

A friend of mine told me, by adding this ground cable to the batt terminal will actually improve the resistance will then improve the potential different. He told me his CRV did observe ~15% fuel improve but I have yet to confirmed, as of now does not seem to see the benefit of fuel save. Only can feel the ignition is much smoother..  thumbup.gif

I'm using a Spider earthing.
But I didn't notice any difference in the fuel consumption..... smile.gif
So not sure....

I was looking for paint coating for a while. Those I found, are silica rich coating, supposed to increase surface hardness and smoothness.

The benefits, longer lasting gloss, protection against chipping and hairline scratches, and good water beading.

Downside, is that the surface needs to be treated with car. It needs to be washed and handled properly for it to last long, and more importantly for the warranty to remain.
*
True....
I did the Glassglow from Sierraglow.... the finishing is very good....
As per their advise, I cannot bring the car for the normal car wash.... can only use the pH neutral Car shampoo....
Have to see how long it lasts.... they have given 5 yr warranty..

mandrewBelow photos, first one is the half melted nipple. The second one is after it was removed, and a bigger hole was bored. You'll see a copper tip after all is done.

Thanks Alexei.
Yes, I could see it is fitted....

Hi All sifu,

I'm from Penang and currently driving 15 yrs old Iswara AE 1.3 and intent upgrade to EXORA CPS 1.6 ( without CFE ) due to some budget concern.
I'm still considering either should take Auto or MANUAL.
But, I heard that it's under power if without CFE. But, that could be old version.
The true or fact only able to reveal from real user feedback.
So, is that true??

BTW, any Penang good salesman with good price and service to recommend?
Appreciate if anyone here can let me know AVERAGE fuel consumption for CPS 1.6 MANUAL and AUTO ( without CFE/turbo).
I believe t'll be slightly higher than my ISWARA due to weight and power.
Whereby my AVERAGE fuel consumption is app  9L / 100km.

Thanks...
*
I was driving a CPS(Auto) from 2011 for about 2 yrs and then upgraded to CFE.
Ofcourse... there is a drastic difference in power if you compare both the vehicles....
I've been to Genting twice and Cameroon in my CPS with 5 members in and no issues even though you feel a bit strain....
Overtaking using CPS is a bit strain as you will not be able to achieve sudden pickup.
If you are looking for a normal Family mode drive, the CPS is good enough.

I think it was around the same....
8 to 9.5km/l for City and 10.5 to 11.5km/l for long trips

My ride is having a intermittent problem with the Aircon.
When I switch on the A/C (speed to 1 or 2) no response..... then I have to turn to max (4) to get it activated and after that all the speed will work fine.
All the 4 times it happened is after a Cold start.
I suspected the Filter and cleaned it but still the problem exits...
Anybody here faced the same problem?

There is a also an intermittent sound developing from the steering rod when I turn to one direction(like the old door opening sound). No issues with the alignment.
Need to show to SC when I go for the side mirror replacement.

SC informed that the ordered Left side mirror unit came.... so I went down for replacement.
When they delivered the car, I saw they changed the right hand side....
When I informed them, they told there was a play for the right hand side also so they changed it....
So finally, both are new..smile.gif
Only sad part is that I installed the Arrow LED indicators in the glasses.... now it's gone....

OCV = oil control valve. few users reported the issue of engine die when reversing. they got around it by chaging OCV.

mine got worse problem, the EB cannot enter gear, as soon as enter gear the engine die. found out at SC, the EB need high rev for the engine not to die. issue was solved after changing OCV as well.
*
Yes, ask them to change the OCV and see....
Mine also had this problem earlier even after the update of ECU and TCU.
Finally they changed the OCV and reflashed again and the problem got resolved.

Where can I get it, by the way, when my car arrives? rclxms.gif

Hi,
If any of you are interested in this and staying in JB nearer to Singapore smile.gif, pls let me know...
I bought 1 set y'day from JB Skyline for RM952 but unable to fix in my ride as mine is a red plate SG registered and unable to open the Bumper to fix the light due to number plate seal put by the LTA.
If anybody interested, pls pm me, I can sell it a bit cheaper smile.gif

It's inside the original box with the bill and 1 month warranty for led and leakage....

I'm also checking with the dealer whether I can return the unit....

That's one of the major parts to watch out for, during warranty period, especially the right side one.

Had the intermittent jerking issue right from day 1.
Many a times brought to SC, but couldn't replicate the issue for them to troubleshoot. Did few things like update ECU, TCU, change Oil valve, change CVT oil etc...
Occurs once in a while especially when moving slowly in traffic jam. Sometimes the vibration is so severe that we feel something like a gear slip....

Noticed that the problem does not exists for quite some time after every Service.
Based on this, Larkin SC narrowed down the diagnosis to Mounting issue.
Changed the Engine mount and the CVT mount last month. Now the jerking completely gone..

The one on the Left.

This one is on the right.
