Here goes my list, please quote and add new ones to build the list.

Rear axle bengkok, detect during alignment...

0-20k issues:
- Overcrank with 'trrr' sound after engine started - one way valve need replace
- Overcrank during cold start - try different petrol brand
- Fuel smell - DIY to glue shut cover holes at petrol inlet
- Radiator plastic nipple connected to turbo coolant pipe burst - Proton recall, change to copper tip
- Oil hose leak - Pay attention to floor to detect leak from engine arza04
- ABS sensor faulty - car brakes softly even when pressed hard, will hear 'trrr' sound due to ABS activated
- Brake light dim - happen on early batch black PCB.
- CVT light on. Refer manual, can reset after 20 times on-off cycle. If repeats, go to SC.

20k-60k issues:
- May include issues from above
- Rear axle bengkok - detect during alignment (Source: bujang3.wordpress.com)
- Engine head oil leak V12Kompressor

Other issues:
- Turbo not working - possibly loose sensor after service
- Engine jerking - possibly spoilt plug cable (Source: bujang3.wordpress.com)
- Battery dead - everything working, but car cannot start sKypRiNcE734 (Source: bujang3.wordpress.com)
- Car headlight not bright enough (New??)
- Engine jerk when switch between D and R.

Hi, I am new here and have new problem to seek solutions. I have an Exora Bold CFE, first batch Jan 2012. Warranty finished as now 3 year and 3 months at 67K km. 4 days ago my turbo is confirmed not working by 2 different mechanics (possible turbo shaft broken). All 3 year services at Proton SC were fulfilled. All the while using Shell 95 until recently Shell 97 after petro price floating. last Engine oil use is PETRONAS Syntium 3000 SM 5W/40 (fully synthetic). Went back to Proton Penang SC and was told need the car for study (arranging KL team to examine). Still hoping that Proton can replace/repair the Turbo as barely exceed 3 yr warranty and fully cooperate to provide them the car for study ( First batch is the guinea pig). If above fail, to all Sifu here, any cheapest way to rectify this problem (new Exora Turbo is about 6K). Help! cry.gif
It was known engine oil treatment can damage Turbo. Mine was treated minimum once by Proton SC. Other possible reason is 'clogged mesh filter inside oil pressure line coming into the turbo (rallychamp-autoworld)'
any suggestions

Sorry to hear this, and it is one of my worry as well. I found this shop on mudah Tong Turbo and it seems new turbo is RM1.6k. They probably do diagnostics as well, but it is located in Cheras. Looking for turbo specialists in Penang, too. At the moment only Northern Garage in mind.

Looking at the turbo module, it doesn't appear to be serviceable to me. May need replacement, or consider upgrade.

Few factors that can cause turbo fails are:
- oil starvation (oil filter blocked, oil line block caused by oil additives or other things, sludge build-up due to engine shut-off coolant pump failure)
- carbon buildup causing VNT failure
- Intake debris causing compressor blade damage
- Exhaust debris (from failed plugs such as observed on diesel glow plug)

For the last 2, once the turbine is damaged, the imbalance will cause bearing and shaft to break.

In your case, when or how did it happen? Did you hear any 'pop' or noise?

Sorry for late reply. Exora is still in Penang SC without news.
I remember first sign was the illumination of Check Engine Warning lamp when I drove uphill at night. As it was raining I hardly heard any unusual sound. I didn't fell any power lost and after the slop I drive slowly about 30 minutes to reach home. The next day when I sent my car to a nearby mechanic to check, I only felt power lost (especially after 2k rpm). The mechanic opened the Turbo connecter and the fin was not moving. When rpm reached 2.5k, we started to hear the turbo vibrating sound (ge..ge..ge..ge..ge..). He concluded Turbo shaft broken as it became loosen. I called Proton SC and they asked me drive slowly to SC the next day. I decided to check at nearby Northern Garage and with the same procedures, it was concluded that turbo was not working after starting the engines. With a engine monitor, the error code was P0299 which stated turbo undercharge.

Hi, Alexei,
Remember me about the Turbo die at 67K km? From the painful experience, I learn
(1) Don't use fully synthetic for 10K, it is best last for 5K only. For your information, my engine oil is Shell Helix Utra at 9+K when turbo die.
(2) In future I will use semi synthetic for every 5K, not more than every 3-4 months.
(3) To check and clean your engine oil pipe to turbo if you are not pratice number (2) above. 1st batch pipe may be smaller (not sure-need confirmation)
(4) Consider to use engine clean up treatment just before change engine oil at reasonable interval.
(5) Consider to change exhaust pipe to direct heat from turbo unit (not sure- need more study)
I can't reveal some of the information, if U follow above, ur turbo unit can last longer
