Any recommendation? Which model? I prefer 30gig and below. Should I wait for the newer generation?

By the way, I had this weird issue, the first time I on it after charged with songs, the whole screen just hang. Then I just let the battery to drain off. After I recharged, it works just as fine. Should I lodge a complaint to Apple? And it is a brand new one.
