But with bad economy, still worth ?
Cadet pilots who started in 2007 did not expect the economy to turn into this shit 2 years later. The same applies, the economy is bad now, but unless you are an economy analyst, you probably wouldn't know how it would look like in year 2011.

-Teddy-, i guess u didn't read my post properly and rush to post a reply

... i guess if you manage to remain and work as a pilot.. of course its worth while... but.. if made redundant... thats different matter i presume...
Depends on how you define worth I guess. To me, the risk is worth taking. If things doesn't go as expected, being jobless after graduating, I can do something else while keep trying my luck looking every possible way to land me a position in the cockpit.
If I were to be on a loan, I can get some other job while waiting, pay bit by bit, ask for help from family members or friends, and struggle through the hard time. That is, if you have a supportive family. Worth it? Yes it is. When you are ready for the worst, nothing can stop you.
For money kind of worth, say you're worried and plan to get a diploma in the meantime, and pursue your pilot course 2 years later, hoping the economy will turn better, how sure are you that the economy will be good in 2013? And if you can afford to do a diploma + pilot course, you should be kind of rich. And being kind of rich, you don't have to worry about not getting a job.
If it is not worth chasing your own dream, struggle through the hardest time to make sure you are doing what you love for a living, what is? It is however not worth to enrol in a flying school if you are expecting a high ROI in the shortest time, monetary wise, with the current economy condition.
