QUOTE(verx @ Nov 28 2006, 05:36 PM) Over-powered in particular, not really.Overplayed : maybe Asura Strider XDAs jen has said,Kahuna is a pretty good survivor on its own, since it can buff, curse, heal over time, damage over time and all that. Even magi's do decently on their own to a certain point, but not as efficiently as the Kahuna I suppose (anything fast moving and ur meat QUOTE(hihihehe @ Nov 28 2006, 05:56 PM) Mental what?Mental support? If yes,it's a breeder's card.No idea how much it's worth though QUOTE(hihihehe @ Nov 28 2006, 10:40 PM) Cubes are to enchant ur gear.Which R2 cube did u get? R2 Strike Cube would be to enchant ur weapon while R2 Defense Cube would enchant ur armours. (R2 stuff obviously)Notice these would make ur gear +x,it's different from the level u upgrade at the blacksmith.Blacksmith ones are behind ur gear,eg. Baloon Sword Lvl 1 An example of an enchanment on the other hand would be +1 Baloon Sword. They would increase ur attack or defense and usually give u an extra stat depending on what gear u upgrade. (As an example,a +x on my robe would give me some defense and mp regeneration as opposed to Lvlx on my robe which would give me some defense and more max mp)\ Enhancements have safe limits,i.e. ur item won't "break".The safe limit is till +3.The % of failure to a +4 is well below 1%,i.e. if u fail going from +3 to +4,the game hates u XD Enhancement on cards (using skill cube and 2 identical cards) is different, even the first enhancement (to +2) has a small chance of failure. The chance of failure increases the higher u go. Well i been seeing lot of new comer to the game, so here a little beginner guide for you all as reference on how to make a good start in Rappelz, hope it help (The guide are written by me and was being posted in various rappelz forums, so is not a copy
Ok this is a beginner guide which will guide you at the early stage. Its covered everything that you need to know as a start. And if you done it correctly, you will going to get to change your job in less that 2-3 hours. So here it goes. ===================================== Changelog: 1-Added 2 more question and answer in FAQ section 2-Added Force chips and Soul chips explaination 3-Added the explanation of each classes from each race ===================================== The Beginning Now i think everyone know how to choose a character, select your preference race, and eventually everyone will be spawn in the same location of training ground. Look for the nearest NPC which will give you some fundamental quest. And this is where you questing begin. Tips : Ok i know what you want to change when you first log on. 1) If you want to change into window mode, just simply click the lower right button and go to system. Then tick the window mode and comfirm. 2) If you want to change the transparency of your window boxes, click the lower right button, go to system and click the gameplay tab. Now change your transparency to min. 3) For every other thing, just explore the function in the system to tweak your performance to your liking. Receiving and solving quest This is pretty straight forward, just double click on the Npc to see what quest she will give you and whenever a quest is given, it's going to let you decide either by selecting "Accept" or "Reject". Whenever you accept, you are ready to solve the quest. Press Alt + Q to see what's in your quest list. Whenever you solve the quest, the quest box will gives you a highlighted indication, so go back to the designated npc and get your rewards. The Hunting Killing in this game is pretty easy, double click what ever monster you wanted to kill, and you will see yourself wacking it. When you click the monster once, you will see the level and name of the monster on your upper screen. Do the same when using skill or spell, click the monster first before you click on your skills. Exploring Ok, with Alt + M, you can call out the map. Click the zoom in and you will see the zoom in area, where you can hover your mouse around the dots to see who's npc in their location. This will help you to do quest quicker. Trainee Island Town Well there is a town in the Island. Just open your map, and head to the place where there is lot of npc grouped around. There is a few reason why you wanted to go there (Moving around is not easy since most character move quite slow and its take time to move from one place to another place). So i strongly recommended that you move to the town once you had done the "Collecting token" quest, which required you to look for Gildas (NPC). There is a few thing you can do here. Merchant =Shop for weapon if you got the cash =Shop for armor if you got the cash =Shop for items (potions) if you got the cash Blacksmith =Upgrade your Equipment if you got the cash StoreKeeper =Keep your belonging Teleporter =Teleport to main land (Town according to your race) or switch channel (From 1-6). You can view your channel from the top of you mini map. Quest NPC =Solve multiple chained quest Other NPC =Which is chained to quest solving, as in summoning pet, job changing and hunting. [Plese note that i am not adding the name of the NPC, just hover your mouse around the dots and you will find their respective location] Chaos Necklace and Lak Ok lot of people ask about this thing. Chaos Necklace can be obtained from quest. Just follow the quest chain and you will come into it (after the hunt for the chaos stone). Another way to get chaos necklace is to buy from the merchant for only 500R. About lak, this is something you obtained from killing monster. They don't drop to the floor but occasionally, you will see purple growing orbs coming out from the dead monster and the animation show that the orbs will be automatically float into you. Check your chat box to comfirm how many Lak you got. Lak is used to exchange for either Rupee ($) or Soul or Force Chip where 1 Lak = 250R 1 Lak = 3 Soul or Force chips Weapon And Armor Upgrading Ok, before this, there is 2 types of parameter to determine the equipments in Rappelz, the equipment rank and equipment level. You can see your equipment rank at the equipment box on the far upper left, believe to rank from 1 to 4. But for early level character, you just need the Rank 1 equipment. As for level, you got to upgrade the level from the blacksmith. All you need is the cash, and your weapon will get more damage and your armor will get more defence. Rank 1 equipment can be upgraded till level 5, rank 2 till level 10 and rank 3 till level 10 as well. All weapon = add damage only All body armor = add defense only Shield = add defense and block rate Gloves = add defense and Hit rate Boots = add defense and Evasion Jpoint and Jlevel This is the parameter that determine your skills and Jlevel. Everytime you kill a monster or solve certain quest, you obtain Jpoints (check on the chat bow on how many jpoint you got). Accumulate this Jpoint to either: 1) Level up you Jlevel or 2) Learn and mastered skills. For each level, you need a specific amount of Jpoints, same goes to your skills learning as well. Some skill require you to spent more Jpoints to mastered. Job Changing You will need to be level 10 and Jlevel 10 as well to change job. It's doesn't really matter cause if you follow all the quest and didnt skip anything, you will be there for the job change in no time. Upon that, you need to kill 3 anatema. Follow the quest will bring you to meet another npc at the eastcoast (near the beach). He require you to kill the anatemas. They are tough but with healing pots, you should be fine, just spam your offensive skill and pray for no lagging. Once complete go back to the npc and get your reward, then go back to the town npc Deneb to get your job change. You will be having problem, when changing jobs as there is not much explaination on what class to take except the name of the class. So here the brief ideas of which class into what function. Asura Basic = Stepper Asura Warrior = Strider Asura Caster = Dark Magician Asura Summoner/Creature Tamer = Sorcerer Gaia Basic = Rogue Gaia Warrior = Fighter Gaia Caster = Kahuna Gaia Sorcerer = Spell Singer Deva Basic = Guide Deva Warrior = Divine Warrior Deva Caster = Cleric Deva Summoner/Creature Tamer = Breeder Note : Warrior is like a fighter, specialist in using weapon of all types. Caster is magician or spell caster, and summoner is those who own pets to battle with them. Tips: 1) You will be doing this anatema killing quest after the creature summon quest, so mount this pet to the npc on the far east coast, cause is pretty time consuming to run there, your pet run faster! And you only got an hour to play around with this mounting pet. 2) The anatema is in the Ginko Forest. So search around, is more on the innerland (not near the cliff of the sea). So happy hunting, and they are agressive, so watch out. Force Chip and Soul Chip You will realize that you got rewarded with Force chips and Soul chips from quest, but what does this chips really do. Click on a monster and use these chips (Either you double click it from the inventory or put it into your hotkey). Now you will see flame animation upon your target enemy, and an extra icon under their name. It last for a brief sec, so whenever you attack them during this duration, you will be dealing 60% extra physical damage for force chip rank 1. So whenever you got any chips, use them to help you level up and kill faster. You will eventually get more from other quests in your main towns. Remember that Rank 1 chips will always work on level 20 monster and below, but might miss for level 20 above monster. For that you need rank 2 force/soul chips. So again as a reminder, don't keep your trainee pots, and all other trainee pots, use them all when you are still in the trainee island cause they gone expired after level 20. Also, use force chips whenever possible, cause it's help you kill faster and level up faster. IF you need them, use your lak to exchange for them! FAQ: This faq will covered those question most people ask. Please be reminded that the answer are those question that i know, so there might be question that i can't answered and not being include here. If you got any, just ask here! 1) I heard that you lose hp when using the "!" shout function in chatting Yes is true, so don't spam 2) How do i see my stamina and what does stamina do? You hover your mouse on your experience bar, you will see your remain stamina over 5k stamina. If your stamina goes down to 0, you will get normal exp rate, or else, you get higher exp rate (2 times) when leveling (killing monster). 3) How do i increase my stamina? So far, the only way is to stop killing, sit in the town or just log off, you get 100% stamina regen in town and anyway outside town, you will only get 30%. Another way would be getting the stamina saver from the item mall which avoid your stamina drop for an hour, hence giving you 1 hour of double experience 4) I double click the monster but my bow/crossbow won't shot, why? Did you equip your arrows? You can buy the arrows from the merchant, come in 500ea and 1000ea. 5) I can't drag to equip my arrows. When you first bought your arrows, there are in the bunch packed. So double click first to untie the arrows, then only equip it. 6) Should i teleport to my main town after job changing? Is all up to your, you can always teleport back to the island if you didn't exceed level 15. There is still lot of interesting hunting quest on the island, those from NPC lancelot. Maybe stick around before you go? 7) How do i mount the pets from the quest. First of all, you need to summon it first. Once summoned, click on the pet once, then open your bottom right button, then click "control" and click on mount/dismount function. YOu will automatically mount on your pet. 8) I can't upgrade my equipment even thou i had enough rupee, why? You must equip your items to upgrade it levels. 9) What is all this I LOVE YOU speech on the chatting box? Well wenever you writen something inappropriate, the system will automatic post out I LOVE YOU. So don't worry about it. 10) Where do i add my stat when i level up? This game features auto allocation of stats so just let the game do their jobs. There will be no point to add any stat that you want. 11) Is there anyway to change channel, how do i view my channel? You can go to the teleporter in the training town or Tristan Npc, both of them can help you switch channel. You can veiw your current channel by refering to the number on top of your mini map (Beside the area name). 12) I am not a summoner, but i wish to have a pet which i can ride, what should i do? Ok go to the npc who give you the free pet mount, the adventurer in the training town or any adventurer from all race towns. Ask to rent for a mount pet, and you will settled with the mounting pet card, last for 6 hours for 1000R. IS pretty handy for you to travel around. 13) How do i ressurect my pet? Go to any pet tamer (summoner) in your respective town and ask for pet management. I believe is around 200R to fully ressurect your pet (Including the rented pet). OTherwise, just ask any cleric around to help or use a ressurection scroll. Summon your pet, then click on your pet (the pet info bow below your character bow on the top left), then double click your ressurection scroll to ress your pet. 14) How do i get pets (Not the mount one) If you want to get a pet, here is what you do, first get your pet control passive skill to level 2, then get any empty pet card and try catch them (common ones are easy to catch, if you got something rare, try get a breeder to help). Once got it, now go to any tamer and ask for pet formation. Drag your card into the box and here you are, you can summon it out to start earning exp for your pet! 15) HP potions doesn't work for me, please help. Ok just to let you know, most potion heal overtime, so if you didnt see your hp bar raised to 100hp, dun panic, you are healing as long as yu got the blue bar saying "Using XX Potion" on your screen and your avatar head is blessed with a glowing circle. But if this doesn't happen, most probably, you are above level 15 and you are using a trainee potion which cannot be use or trade after level 15. 16) I am walking pretty slow, is there anyway to walk faster? There is a few way to walk or move faster that usual. First, you can get a mount pet to help you travel faster (Fastest way). Other than that, you can try using the Increase speed potion or for specific class (Deva and Asura), you can wait till you get a passive that increase walking speed. 17) I saw some of my spell indicate threat level, so does this mean? Lot of spells had different threat amount, some are high and some are low. When you use a spell, you will attract monster to attack you, same goes for healing or other casting spell. So the higher you threat amount of your spell, the higher chance the nearby monster will attack you. If you want to learn more about threat issue, please click here ===================================== Going to update more info, everyone are welcome to post any question here, and me or others who know will try to assist and the question will be added into the FAQ session. Its depend on your area broadband services, I had done what you had done so far, to patch the whole game over and over, and the effective time (with good connectivity) should be around 1/2 days to patch completely. But its still depend on the stability of the connection. Sometimes, you might get hang half way.
Just be patient and everything should be ok patching up everything. |

Like what skills I should learn and all http://www.rappelz.us/Classes/Gaia/Fighter/SkillTree/As u can see from the skill tree,ur passives (the top portion) would be the branch of long bow trainin n all while ur actives will be along the branch of arrow of delay.U'll also need spiracle charge obviously,to use spiracle skills. Initial lvlin from what I've seen can be draggy as a long bow fighter since it takes time to load and pull the bow,but you should be fine if u quest ur way up.Just get help (party) or somethin if it seems to slow.
