being a electronic student with a major ... you have much to explore ... don't just focus on your major you can be involve in electronic field actively, moreever you can even touch down on some electrical company(soem company opens up option to Electrical & Electronics qualification, as the required basic knowledge is the same, just that more to learn for electronics student) .

youre pretty lucky, as an electronics engineer you're very much opened up to various jobs.
not very sure about your major though, as far as i know, EE students have a much wider choice compared to other majors.
you can go in to companies related to semicon, PCB fabrication, automation, VLSI layout(altera) and many more to go. if you have programming experience, u can even end up as a programmer.

lastly, i believe its up to individual interest to select what kind of job you want to have. as an EE student, you have more options, one of my friend even end up in sales line.
you must love your job to really do well....choose wisely and dont be afraid to jump from one company to another if you spot a better opportunity, but leave peacefully and they might hire you back in the future.
