Correctly they are described as 'bar grips'. One of the most under rated important components is the bar grips apart from the saddle. These two are where our body touches the bike and it is very important that both of these matches us. Gel gloves helped to an extent. A few years ago, LeRun Industries had their warehouse sales and these in the pictures below was selling at 50 percent discount. I bought 4 sets of them but 2 have been sold when I sold my 2 folding bikes. I made a mistake of not taking them out. Now I have 3 sets ( 1 set I managed to fing in Rodalink ). I find them actually very comfortable but as they are in an angle, they must be adjusted such that it does not hinder the gear shifter release.

Now I am trying to find them but I don't think Le Run will bring them in again.
