hehe.......nowdays during holidays mana2 also jam...so i tell myself ..y not use foldies to travel around w my family no need waste time jaming around n let them noe abt riding safety on raods......n also its easy to ride for my kids too...so to fold it at home....malas la...hehehe...maybe after shifting to my other houz ...i will spare a room to hang d bikes!

I noticed there's been some discussions about gearing and possibly adding front derailleur to your bike.  Some bikes have not been designed to bolt on a front derailleur and my Bike Friday is a classic example.  Have you guys ever thought about adding an internal hub to extend your gearing?  Works very well.  I have 8 speed cassette and with a 3 speed hub, I have 24 gears in total.  The Sram dual drive shifts instantly and very simple to maintain.  Only thing you need to do is to lace the hub onto your wheel and off you go.  May be easier than modifying the frame!  Worth considering.

Last thursday I got time to go back early due to office open house, so I just try to cycle to Komuter Sentul, it was at peak hours. So I ask if can bring in my bike, no bag. The komuter guy said can (but I didnt as I was just planning to ask), I show him my bike, and ask if I need to put in bag. He said no need, just carry by hand but must fold it (that time I didn't fold it). I ask what about peak hours? He said if not many people can, but if many people cannot. So I guess it depends on the crowd.

So komuter down, lrt to go. I'll see when I have time for experiment.

Btw, on the ride. It's about 7km one way. It was around 6pm from gombak, to Sentul was not bad traffic as people were coming back from opposite direction, but a bit scary at traffic lights. I ride defensively for safety. But what's the correct way, to ride on the left or the right side of the road? I stay on the left but when comes to junction I need to turn right with traffic light, I find it a bit daredevilish to cross, so I stop and wait until no car to cross. Also what's proper way waiting at traffic light, together with motorcycles in front? I do that and try to pedal fast when green light coz scared car will honk me for slow, haha. Coming back home, I was riding with the office people traffic, so take precationed, a bit dangerous when next to big lorry. I was not wearing helmet at this time.

And I now know what people mean when they say the bike not fast enough haha, I felt that in some parts of the ride. In total it was about 14km, I was fine going to komuter sentul but coming back nearing gombak, my legs wanna give up already haha. I relied on my heels to press on the paddles on final parts of the journey. But arrived safely.

Oh yeah my butt sore too, I think need to change seat? Or use the proper cycling pants if riding long?

Got my helmet already, so maybe if I have the courage next week will do that for real to office.

I spent some time tinkling with my Miss Tikit today. Wanted to increase gearing and was considering changing to a larger chainring.  Was about to do that and then I remembered this bike had 165mm cranks and I really preferred 170cm. Tried a set from my Surly bike but the chainring did not fit.  Then I remembered having a spare set of 54T cranks for the Brompton.  Had to in the end replaced the bottom bracket for a slightly wider one, and they all fitted!  Now my American bike is part English, hahaha!
