Depends lorr. How much you want to spend? It is actually a TT bar but as it looks like a bull horn, they called it such. If earlier easy loh, my wife's velo has just changed from bullhorn to straight bar. The bar is sold and the shifters also sold.
The bull horn can range from RM100 to a few thousand Ringgit. Most expensive is the shifters + brakes levers or brifters as they called it. Also known as roadbike shifters. The cheapest 10 speed is Tiagra , selling about 300 plus for one pair and Shimano Sora is 9 speed is 100 bucks cheaper. If yours an 8 speed, then you have to hunt in BBS for older versions of Sora. Then add labour charges. That's it, I guess.
I think you should get a road bike straight away. The way I see how you are pursuing the cycling habit, it is a matter of time you will go for road bikes. Really, I have seen many.
So,the minimum cost would be 400 to convert it? Thats a lott. haha ikr. Tat day saw a customer speacial order a speacialized road bike. Demmm. SO niceee! Mini velo usually cost how much? Mini velo cant be folded rite?
PS/ Another option to use the bull horn bar is get the roadie brake levers and put in TT bar shifters. Shifters that is installed at the end of the bullhorn. Like this,
This way i dont need to change or purchase new shifters?
Hi all, anyone knows where I can get decent and not too expensive carrying cases or at least a strap to secure the bike in my car while transporting it? I have a Java Decaf 20".
Bought my carrying case for only rm40. Can fit my bulky 20" raleigh ugo. Quality wise ok only.
Mountain biking is more technical. Means there are a lot of skills to be acquired. Also you need to grow balls for fast downhilling. Anyway, I just treat my mountain biking like leisure ride, hahaha. No hurry, just different riding enviroment, under trees, shady , that kind of thing. I once join a group of mountain bikers and they rush back to the cars after a while and it was because the sun was coming out! Imagine mountain bikers who are 'puteri lilins'. Road bikes on the other hand, it's more of an endurance on further and faster. Off course , basic skills on riding are a pre-requisite on all forms of biking. I suggest you ride your foldie, see if you enjoy riding a bike first. Do you get ambitious or do you get envious of others? And see how far you can go on your foldie. Join a group, maybe ride with them on a major ride and see if you enjoy the ride. If you do, then go ahead but if you complains after riding 30 kilometers or so, then don't bother with even road bikes. I noticed that you are getting really anxious, hahaha.
BTW, Is 7 spd foldie sufficient to go on town hopping or long distance riding? Will it be too tiring?
Probably the average weight which is higher than asians and also the way they ride. When they buy something for usage, they really use it and also take the product capability seriously. Unlike us, many tends to 'sayang' the product. Just like how a group of Brompton riders who chartered a whole bus to ride in Ipoh night ride and when it drizzles, all fold up and carry it back into the bus. Although meant to be hardy and strong, they treat like their Bromptons cannot get wet. Bromptons even scale down export to South Korea because the users there are treating the bikes like a status symbol which is against Brompton's policy. Which is also the same here actually.
LEL> Even my cheapo Ugo,i also syg it like a brompton. After each ride will clean n wash. Scractches on it make me sakit hati.
i long long time wipe once that all for bike cleaning part.. just check all those hinge and lock and oil d bike.. no more than that.. so selalu kena marah sbb tak jaga bike...
Oil the bike means oil at whr? Folding hinge? The folding hinge use oil or grease?
haha. this one dont ask, not so often just that when i see and think it require some oil then i do ... nope not using that just manually use brush(if i'm not lazy at that time) but most of the time just lube and go..
Can just spray the lubricating oil on the chain? Or need specific oil/grease 1?
