i start with the hummer too. Like folding bike + full size and seems hummer is more affordable in the market. But it was too big and unable to put behind my car trunk, need to take off the front wheel ==
the weight is about 16-18kg i think for this model.. it about 3-5 kg heavier than those normal mountain bike
the weight i google from internet, not measure myself though~~~

i am driving persona. If you want to keep inside your room then i won`t encourage as it still very big in size. A good point for me is that i can take this bike to whenever i wanted to ride without getting the bike holder for my car.
If you dont goes for offroad i think it should be fine. hehehe.

Because i buy secondhand, so the condition might not as good as the new one.
So far it is really great for my ride as my requirement was really low~ hehe

since my sister already take my dahon vybe,i had no bike for touring.so i decided to bought 2nd speed p8 2013 model.as you all know, the speed p8 2013 comes with lousy component compare to previous version.i dont mind it either coz i've plan to adopt shimano ultegra groupset to it..

and here it is

using avid brake liver, new grips and shimano deore 10speed shifter combine with shimano ultegra cranks and rd with tiagra 12-30 casette and claris fd i manage to get this new setup!all racks and accessories from my vybe transfer to my speed

and my next project is to make my dopper a roadbike instead

Nice projects bro!! Especially love what you've done with the Speed P8!! What I don't like is the poison is now very strong for me to mod LOL.

As for the doppelganger, crossed my mind too to get one and upgrade with better components, but since it's still quite big for a folding bike i decided to just scrap the idea and save up for a normal road bike. But keep us posted on the Doppelganger mod man, it'll be sick to see a folding road bike with awesome 105 components

thanks bro thumbup.gif

at 1st,
i think want to put the 105 component into the speed P8 and ultegra will transfer to the dopper..will see later lah if i ride dopper more often compare to speed in the future.. tongue.gif

will update later on the dopper.besides,my theory the dopper is just a folding frame.later if i had to,i can bought 1 normal roadbike frame and transfer all the dopper component to it,or maybe i find dahon tournado for it...visa versa! rclxub.gif

Let's move away awhile from shifter, crank, fd/rd. Curious for any experience you may hv on the effect of RPM/cycling classes in the gym in cycling stamina level?
*
I never tried RPM in gym, but there is nothing versus real-time hill climb in front of you.

In gym, you set the knob to "tighten up" but you can always slow down rpm or reduce tightness (cheat ownself while the trainer does not notice rolleyes.gif ). In real life facing a stretch going uphill for 500m, you got no choice but to go all the way. You can't cheat anybody but yourself. Unless stop, get down and push the bike.
Add a strong blowing head-wind when you going uphill ... sweat.gif

You can try build your muscle and stamina, but need to practise on real course from time to time.

I used to ride mountain bike daily 25k-35km on-road & off-road (not using roadbike) and now looking to start back with foldie stuff. icon_rolleyes.gif

Now still unsure what to buy 20" wheels:
option 1: budget <RM1.2k like dahon vybe but no FD
option 2: budget RM2-3k prefer with both FD and RD (2x8 or more) is enough. I really like that dash D18 specs, or Speed/Mu D8, Vitesse D8
rclxub.gif

My ex-mountain bike is 3x7 = 21 speed. I prefer with FD to play with big (speed) and small (climb) crank. Rear cassette with 7 or more speed is more than enough, if front crank has two gears already.

thanks for sharing.I used to be very active in mtb but now .... I took the RPM/cycling classes & i found the interval training enjoyable. in actual cycling, it is hard to has those rapid changing terrain (may be except kiara). so basically my take is cycling in gym offer the interval training that real life cycling may not available

indoor is more efficient if u can generate the same motivation as u get on the road ....

plus indoor u dont have to worry about many things, cars, dogs, traffic light... hujan etc....

so if u work hard indoor, u might reach ur goal much faster n saves more time comparing to only training on real road..

most ppl's alasan is boring la... no motivation la... etc
so if u can beat this,..
