QUOTE(H2D @ Jan 26 2015, 10:46 PM) QUOTE(etigge @ Jan 26 2015, 10:48 PM) The 130mm and 135mm refers to the width of the rear hub. It actually can be fitted regardlessly only if your frame is 130mm you can force open the width and if you have 135mm frame, you can tighten the QR tighter to close the gap. Ohh..lol. difficult la to buy wheels. Thanks sifu ettige and h2d |

QUOTE(Spitzer @ Jan 26 2015, 11:24 PM) Guys.. do you ride when it's sunny out? How's all of your riding schedule looks like? Do you drive to your riding spot? I tried riding kesas from sri petaling to subang jaya to sri petaling before starting at 11am. 20+km about an hour ride..its bearable but i wont do it again lah. The amount of sweat is like after i came out of swimming pool. Waking up early is difficult for me haha. You can look for cycling groups who goes ride at night. Loads of them.I've tried starting my ride at 9am (100km+), and i think u can just imagine the suffering and time taken... Never again, and it did my skin a considerable damage I really can't find time out of my schedule, and most of my available timeslot is on noon... or when the sun's coming up. I can find time to ride at night, but I really fell unsafe since there's lesser cars around... (ie.lesser car, more idiots will think they can get away doing stupid things to you) QUOTE(bee993 @ Jan 26 2015, 11:31 PM) Hi al sifus here.. i am looking for advice on which folding bike to get... Where do you live? Theres a few reputable shops selling folding bikes in klang valley. You need go and look see look see Juz wan it for doing exercise ..budget around rm1k |

QUOTE(etigge @ Jan 27 2015, 06:39 PM) If you have someone in Japan, why don't you ask him to dismantle the whole bike to bare bone and repack. The problem is not the weight as it is only 12kgs but the volumetric dimension of the box. Doubt he wana do that..i found his thread offering to buy and deliver stuff from lowyat service noticeboard. Still waiting for him to give confirmation of the packaging dimension. Dang sad. Mokhbin somore awol edi with his dash p18 lolIt can be reassemble here. The weight of the bike only 9.2kg not 12 lol This post has been edited by handsomedog: Jan 27 2015, 06:45 PM |

QUOTE(etigge @ Jan 28 2015, 10:43 AM) The new Dahon Dash 2015 specs are not very good and the price RRP is RM2998 which is way higher than last time. It uses Microshift RDs so the RD can just switch and the shifters can just be added onto the bull horn. The bullhorn that my wife's Performer is a Zipp replica(carbon fiber) and it cost me RM260 and the bar tape another RM100. Roadbike components are really expensive. The shifters are ven more expensive, a 10 speed Tiagra is almost RM400 , Shimano 105 RM600 and the Ultegra RM800 to sometimes RM1000 depending on the seller. Yea, i also dont like when people question the price i put on my own item. Either you accept the price or give your best price that should be all. Questioning people decision is kinda disrespectful unless close friends lah. That's why many new riders don't understand why I am selling mine for RM4000 but has since went down to RM3500. Some even taunt me telling me that if he adds RM1700 for the 105 groupset + new bike RM3000 it is only RM4700 compared to an old Dash for RM3500. But he did not add in the superior and lighter rims, the Schwalbes, the Fizik bar grips, SR saddles, the QR pedals which might add up to another RM1000. The cheapest 10 speed roadie components are the Shimano Tiagras and the SRAM Apex in which the Apex is priced higher but lower performance. On the upgrades, that means i just need to hunt a 10 speed sti levers then. I saw before in bbs rm180 a pair. Not sure 9 or 10 spd but regret didnt sapu it but ofcourse need wait i sapu a dash 1st. Haha |

If casual cycling any bike also can. Just try buying at a reputable shop cause they would ensure more on the quality of the product before they put it on thier shelves. As for foldable bikes, depends on your need. Like myself, i decided on a foldable because i can just shove it at the back of my sedan. If i drive a truck, likeliest i would have gotten a roadbike instead. Its just down to whether you need the folding mechanism or not.

QUOTE(mingyan @ Feb 28 2015, 01:24 AM) Tempting me to go to Thailand to get the Altena. How to get the Altena which cannot be folded as small as the other Dahons safely across by air? Go to hadyai, buy the bike and cycle back to msia while cosplaying as a bicycle tourer hahaI can only think of flying over to Bangkok and taking a train back to kl. The train ride will take 1 day and 7 hours. Perhaps just get the 2015 dash and slowly convert it into an Altena. Cheaper and less hassle. Mini velo fever. I agree with handsomedog the 2014 dash color is really awful. |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Mar 4 2015, 10:26 AM) I am new in folding bike. Currently I am looking for a bike that suits me (5'7") and my son (4'0"). We have tested a few bikes on display at malls, but found none that fits me and my kid. (Basically my kid's feet cannot touch the ground when seated.) Why dont you try bicycle shop. Buying bicycle at malls macam tak betul ni..I intend to bring out the bike to taman and lake garden to ride with my kid. Any advise is very much appreciated. Thanks. Also ive seen kids about your son height riding 20 inch dahons. Just need to know how to handle the bike but if cant he can try 16" foldimg bikes This post has been edited by handsomedog: Mar 4 2015, 11:30 AM |
