Good article for diy the fender. I really like this fender. It looks really neat and cool. The previous owner must have take great details on custom built it. He even follow exactly how the mortop clip design. I lost one of the clip, if I see this diy.. Maybe I just use the wire to stick a hole in the fender. Hahaha
Anyway, I've ask a mechanic to custom made the clip and it cost me RM 70 for two clip 😅😅😅

Hi all Shifu,

i am planning to get a foldie for a good ride.... but been going through some bicycle shops and they recommend me:

Dahon Vigor P9, Xds AFB660 or AFB710 (not sure). But after go through some replies from you all i saw some say Trinx Ka2016D is good.

May i know whats the comparison like for the above 3 models?

I find the Xds folding is very neat and save space.

It cost me around RM1,500.00 while Dahon Vigor P9 are very costly at RM2,175.00.

How much is Trinx ka2016d? I saw some mentioned around RM1,000.00 (which i find it economical), but most important is hows the performance?

Appreciate if i can get some feedback and advise from shifu here. Sincerely don't hope to make the wrong decision.

I see that most buy a 16" trinx and upgrade the whole component. Is the frame and folding mechanism really good? 16" trinx only RM 500 plus brand new
You also have a 16" trinx and upgrade to fnhon, right?

i buy the trinx coz fnhon frame cost rm1k with shipping.not include wheelset and other.only handlepost, headset and seatclamp

not all upgrade their 16" trinx.but i would recomended to upgrade only the crank from 48t to at least 53t. you will cadence high to keep up the speed above 20kmj..

well, if u can happy with 6speed on the trinx 16, then its ok lah..

Guys,

Want your opinion. I'm thinking of bringing a bike back with me on my next trip. This is to ride around while I'm in KL and possibly will sell off one day.

My question would be, which one would be better?

Dahon Vitesse or Giant Halfway......

Pls let me know which is more appealing when time to sell. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks!

The possibility of selling it off one day............ most definitely goes to a Dahon. Giant folding bikes doesn't command a following as popular as Dahons. Most definitely will be easier to sell off later. Giants are not really folding bikes specialist anyway. They are more into roadbikes and mountain bikes unlike Dahons which specializes in folding bikes only. Why not look into MIT as well for KL commuting. It folds smaller and easier to carry into LRTs. In fact it is even lighter than a B. Just a thought.

Thanks Sifu,

I think you are right about Dahons. However the Giant will be a cheaper bike and for beginners, it would be a much better bike than the chinese made ones. Looks very different with a one-sided front fork and rear triangle. Probably around RM600, would people prefer a new bike i wonder?

Won't be commuting and definitely not buying more bikes shakehead.gif These are the two that gets used very seldom.
