correct me if im wrong, but lrt do have women coach right?maybe that coach a bit comfort to carry the bike around.
*
Nope, Komuter (KTM) has ladies coach, LRT (Kelana Jaya line) don't have, I am not sure Ampang line (previously STAR LRT) has as I don't use that one. Hehe but actually, you may not know, the ladies coaches are usually more crowded than normal coach as more women use public transport. In komuter, if one wants seat, sometimes we use normal coach, plenty of seat. ha ha

Dear Sifus,

I plan to buy a decent folding bike for exercise / leisure. My budget is ~ RM1.5K.
After doing some research, I scale down my choices to these 2 bikes
1. Dahon Vybe D7
2. Java Fit S16
I'm not sure I will upgrades the parts in the future or whether the parts can be upgrade or not ? I noticed everyone recommend Dahon Speed D8 here. It is worth to stretch my budget to get speed. Please help !! TQ

Hi all,

I hv decided to get folding bike for me and wifey, budget would be around rm800-850(for one). Which bike would you recommend? Just some 10-20km ride around neighbourhood etc. Nothing hardcore. But folding mechanism should be robust and reliable as it will be fold and unfold frequently. Thanks.

I think Dahon SUV D6. http://www.khassbicycles.com/index.php/bik...on-suv-d6-steel

I have no experience in it but it's an economy Dahon, so I think the folding mechanism should be fine. Don't be like me buy economy one (raleigh wrangler) and the flimsy folding falls off in 3rd use he he. but all are fine as long as you know how to put it back together. thumbup.gif

btw guys, anybody has experience using foldie for daily errands? like go to supermarket or shopping malls. in malls do you bring your folding bike in? and if no, where do you park and how do you lock? if you eat in cafe for example, do you just leave outside without lock?

You can fold and carry it in actually. Better if it is a 16 inch foldie. Smaller and more compact. For a foldie, no matter how you lock it won't be safe. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi all,

I am researching foldies and base on my budget of RM2200 which I narrow down to dahon 3 model namely

1) dahon vitesse d8
2) dahon mu d8
3) dahon vigor p9

My main purpose is to work out by riding in parks and commute and explore around in city during weekend.

Which model in terms of performance, parts and option to possibility upgrade of parts is more value for monies?

Thanks

Before you go get the Deore brakes, why don't you get your Vigor and ride first? Maybe it is enough for you for the mean time. The Shimano Deore brakes plus levers are 200 plus, I think. That was a year ago, God knows how much it is now. Looking at our currency, whatever parts will be expensive. Yeah, just plug and use laugh.gif

I tested the stock levers .... really can not go. not responsive enough hahaa. thought just change the levers must well get the whole set.

Will try to get verge p9 .. if really can't get (rodalink got but price a bit higher ) then mostly will go for MU or vigor.

Next is .. learn mod from this thread !! biggrin.gif
