QUOTE(SJ18 @ Dec 21 2014, 09:18 PM) I changed my saddle to a Selle Royal Gel and it still didn't help much. Finally added an "el cheapo" gel padded cover which I transferred fr an old MTB and I cud ride for an hr without much problemo Haha..i was very reluctant to change saddle cuz its expensive and reluctant to wear tights cuz i just dont like it As for me, like what etigge said, its about getting used to the ride. Ive been riding everyday since i gotten my bike and the pain is gradually going away. No pain no gain

I was riding yesterday on rainy weather and my bike is dirty and sandy. Some of those sands got to my seat post so when i lowered it the sands got inbetween the seat post, clamp and are grinding it. Need to wash it.
So i am planning to get wax and lube today. Any suggestion on the brand and where to get it? I read in v2 some saying the singer lube is too thin and wont work properly. What should i get instead? Also for the wax, i checked bbs and those wax machiam expensive. They look like pomade wax for hair.
Also..can i use wd40 to clean the chain cogs and cranks?

Thanks sifu etigge. Saved your tips on how to clean the drive train. I just went to ace hardware and bought a white lithium spray grease and a spray on chain lube by qplus. Didnt see any finish line brand lube until i went to rodalink after that Gona try with the spray lube 1st and see how it goes. I think you can start your own bike upgrade and service center ady ettige..you are too good. Just do it from home and via pm here in forum haha

QUOTE(desastar @ Dec 24 2014, 08:25 AM) I have one of these chain cleaner device. Works well, happy with it. Don't need to waste a lot of degreaser. My chain comes out really clean! Thabks for the feedback. Gonna get one from bbs for 20 bucks. Had a ride today at a park near frim. Huge park with a lake in the middle. Metropolitan park iinm. Good park with cycling and jogging trail. Only downside is the lake is kinda smelly.

QUOTE(etigge @ Jan 5 2015, 07:08 PM) Yes, but that's my wife's mini velo. The Performer is rigid chromoly frame and very light. After chnaging to Ultegra groupset, it is below 9 kg. Originally it was a straight bar and I change it to a bull horn bar or what they call TT bar. Compared to the Dash, the Performer is a better ride but Dash is foldable but Performer is not. The Dash is an X20 now and I use it for more shorter and tarmac rides. Long distance, my wrist pains after 80 km. For distances longer than that or multiple day riding, I use my Dahon Speed. Orang tua cannot always bend the back bone lah! Too back breaking to ride hunch down all the time. It seems the Dahon Dash is priced near 3K now and they have reverted back to C-brakes and 451 wheelset. Wuaaa...so cool :drooling: Look like a pairing made in heaven..dont seperate them ettige lol

QUOTE(desastar @ Jan 15 2015, 08:26 AM) I would say M. Best to give it a try. You may have a longer torso/shorter legs or the other way around. Hmm any recommendation on which shop i can get a proper testing on the bike? Most shop dont allow testing. If i do get a test ride, what do i do or how should i know if the bike fits me? Any particular or correct way i should position myself on the bike?

After riding i have lower back sore as well. No adjustment can be made on my bike handle bar so i guess can only adjust the seat post height and saddle angle. Dont think i wana consult bike fitter..im just a casual rider haha. As for the dash..really eager to get one now. Went to kesas ride yst and those thin tayar bike can really zoom..

QUOTE(desastar @ Jan 16 2015, 10:23 PM) You are riding a Vybe right? Is your seat higher than the handlebar? If not, you are sitting in a more relaxed upright position already. Is the saddle pushed too far back? Make sure it is level too and not angled. Riding a link. Seat used to be lower but some sifu tought me way to get correct seat height so now my seat post is adjusted higher than how i usually ride. Its actually almost the handle bar height..i cant even tip toe when bike is verticle.

QUOTE(mockbain @ Jan 17 2015, 04:27 PM) Bro..would you be interested in a pre-loved Dr Hon Dash P18 2013? Bought it sometime in Jan last year but couldn't give it much love as most of my riding time is spent on my other bikes (Birdy Deore LX/XT - folding, Cervelo One - rb, KHS Alite 1000 - mtb). I'm thinking of putting it up on BBS but would settle for a quick sell if there are offers. My asking price would be RM1.8k negotiable with a few accessories thrown in (Topeak Bar n' Mirror bar end, Wellgo M111 QRD pedals, Avid FR5 brake levers-not yet installed). The Dash is gathering dust now as the rear tube is punctured. Condition is 9/10 with some minor scratches and paint chipping plus wear & tear. Would post pics of the bike but I don't have any recent ones. The only one I got is the pic below from May 2013 of me riding it in Avanti Pahlawan Charity Ride (pic courtesy of Mr Sin Tai Lim's blog - Happy Happy) [attachmentid=4304962] I'm currently outstation and will only be back in KL on Thursday. Can meet up at Desa Park City as I live near the area. Do PM me if you are interested! Ugpm

QUOTE(desastar @ Jan 17 2015, 08:50 PM) Well, did your back hurt before you raised the seat? If not, that's the answer. That sifu way sounds right, but you may not be as flexible perhaps. I would try lowering the seat an inch and see what happens. If that works and you may even want to get yourself an adjustable stem. That way you can have the seat height correct and increase the height of the handlebar so you are more upright. I'm no expert, but that's how I would tackle it. My back was sore before the adjustment and also after the adjustment. I think the culprit maybe a seat cushion i put on my saddle..i took it off today before a ride and didnt feel any sore. But have to try a few more rides to be sure. Tq bro

There were a bunch of cyclists just now when i was driving out from klcc going towards pavillion and bb road. I kept my distance from them but they weaving pass me and cars like rempits. Some without lights and no helmets. Cycling erratically and very fast in congested area ignoring traffic lights and almost hitting a padestrian who were crossing the road. One almost hit my side during a small corner. Mostly were road bikes but theres few foldies. To those who ride at cities at night, please dont ride like mtfkers.

I want to replace it with something with better bearings/spinning capability so i can more speedy but maintaining 406 wheels instead of 451. Any reccomendation of where or what should i be looking for?

QUOTE(H2D @ Jan 23 2015, 02:42 PM) from guan chows' website... http://gccycle.com/index.php/product/dahonif the only dahon which has double crank is the 2015 dash isn't it stupid? since more than 4 years ago, when dahon is getting popular here, the distributor lerun refuse to take in bikes which has more speed and normal folding bike frame, ie vitesse p18 etc,, until last year? finally visc p18... which is the fugly version now tarak liao?? so sure loose to those java etc etc ..... True..all dahon models has single digit speed except the dash. Upgrading is seriously a headache unless you a pro..i think will also void the frame warranty. I am also very confuse with their color choice for the dash

QUOTE(etigge @ Jan 26 2015, 08:21 PM) I might be wrong but I think the rims are from a model of Birdy bikes which uses 18 inch wheels. So, it is neither 406 nor 451. Aikss...ok thanks ettige
