now many new adult cyclists who didn't get the chance to start young.
i guess would be hard for them to decide at first.
may not know what they want and would need some trial and error.

alamak anak model more expensive than bapak...hmmm....found a decent price for DAHON BULLET but when I google more, a bike shop in SG said Bullet is not international Dahon, I don't know what he meant by it, like if it's a fake Dahon or what. but it said that it didn't undergo standard test like other DAHON. Found also a decent priced Dahon which is SUV D6. Maybe will check it out. the Bullet is better as body is Chromoly while the SUV was Hi ten steel? thus it is heavier. so I dunno it the Bullet is worth to get, if it is not covered by DAHON warranty as said by the SG bike shop.

huhu yeah, I am not a biker, before when i was a kid, only a typical child bike BMX was famous that time in the 90s. and then when in uni year, just use a cheap rm200 bicycle bought from carrefour to get around UM campus living in residential college. now I know just from basic research about gears and etc. I know that I need to have at least the 6 gears as where I live is a bit hilly but not so steep.

also no kawan have bike let alone foldie to test out he he he

but anyway thanks, still doing research, based on budget and some specs that I want. smile.gif

Hey guys, so I found some foldies that is in similar price range. if anybody has any review or recommendation, can let me know please. so hard to choose. icon_question.gif

My preference and cycle purposes:

To cycle from house to lrt about 3km++, in tar road. there will be some hills but not so steep, if anybody familiar, nearby lrt gombak when you want to climb to the taman area in nearby uphill. Then bring inside LRT and will have to push/carry in KL sentral and change to Komuter. Then after komuter cycle to OUM which is another hill. Some other days will use for going supermarket nearby my house, and also cycle in PJ Old town to go to my friend's house to teach swimming (from LRT taman jaya).

Bike need to be able to install carrier because I may carry stuff for swimming and also running errands. If can put a small canvas bakul in front also better although may not be necessary.

My budget below rm1000 but if it's worth to up more for necessary spec, I may cap it at rm 1300, but lower is better sad.gif pretty tight budget and poor especially after GST lol.

so here are what I found:

JAVA TT: Got guy offer me RM860
JAVA PRO: RM860

but I read somewhere that JAVA cannot install carrier, is this true?

Raleigh UGO: a guy offer me RM850 (to add carrier RM80)

Dr Hon Vybe C7A: RM 999

DR HON VYBE C7S: RM 979

DAHON SUV D6 2015: rm840

I also found TERN LINK C7 cost RM1250 - is it worth to up the bidget for this bike?

All price is exclusive of GST though sweat.gif so the 900++ may actually be more than my initial budget. ha ha what to do cry.gif

Thanks everyboy for your input!

I may only be able to suggest choosing 16" types cause they are more convenient for train/lrt travel. Since your trip mileage are low, the 16" types may still be comfortable.

For your need, I think MIT would really suit you. It is not as expensive as a Brompton which is the best commuting ( as you are using it for!) , the MIT folds just as small and it's even lighter. It sells for over 2K though. It also has original 8 speed which is also good for your hills.

Other than that, since you are using it for train commuting as well, a 16 incher would be preferable as a 20 inch don't actually folds small either. Manageable , and the smallest 20 inch folds are Dahons. Maybe the Boardwalk, Speed or Vybe. As for Vybe the C7a is lighter than the C7s. icon_rolleyes.gif
