hi all Sifus here

I just copied my entire music library (about 10GB) to my Note 4, and this IndexService wakelock keeps draining my battery.

any idea how to solve this issue without rooting the phone?

many thanks in advance notworthy.gif

No other way let it run cause if u use nomedia method ur song will not be listed unless got app where u can manually point to the location of ur songs if that is the case google nomedia in which index will skip that directory.

Ahhh. Ok, hopefully it gets better after a few days. rclxub.gif

Thanks for the assurance, Sifus! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

How to see the wakelock without root bro ?
*
It showed on in my standard TouchWize battery monitor. It's not one of those hidden wakelocks, so yeah. biggrin.gif

Yeah, that's a big problem when I use dot view case for my M8.

I believe Note 4 S view case transparent window can fit the camera right?
*
The SView camera mode isn't the full blown camera UI. Very limited and I don't even bother using it compared to the actual camera UI which requires the flip to be open. sweat.gif

*

Just put only. Probably not buying already. Haha!

Same here. I'm intrigued with the Nexus 6 too since Lollipop is awesome on my Nexus 5!

I'm quite disappointed that Samsung had to put the Exynos in Note 4 for Malaysia set. Sigh. Seems that the SD sets which USA reviewers have give awesome battery life, just by looking at GSMArena ratings will tell.

Now I can't even use the Note 4 as my daily driver without bringing out my PowerBank.

Use it for quick snap thenĀ  laugh.gif

You using Note 4 as daily driver now?
*
Bro, Daily driver is my iPhone 6 Plus, secondary line using Note 4. biggrin.gif
Note 4 performance is quite poor (even my Nexus 5 is faster than it). Sadly, I attribute this to the inferior Exynos chipset which Malaysian sets have compared to the Snapdragon version which USA has.

Hi, how many versions are there actually? You mean all Malaysian sets are not using the Snapdragon version? If we get the Snapdragon version, can it be used in here?
*
SnapDragon version has higher clockspeed and SoC cores which allow much better battery management, and also better performance (when required by apps). Also, it has superior Graphics chipset so gaming on the SnapDragon version is far better than on the Exynos.

The only good thing about Exynos is that it is 64-bit compliant, so it is more future-proof.

normal (Exynos and S805). Any idea whats the main difference? Is S805 alot faster?
*
It's difficult to find big review sites benchmarking and testing the Exynos version cause Samsung is smart since they give USA only the faster SnapDragon versions. Majority of big review sites are USA-based so you would only see S805 version reviews. But Exynos (which is likely cheaper to produce) goes to the majority of other countries.

Ahh dang, does it apply to other phones too? Different version in different countries, like HTC one M8 / Nexus 6 / Moto X?
*
Only Samsung cause Exynos is produced in-house by them. Other brands don't have such manufacturing potential.

Band difference. I hardly see any AP shop selling S805 variant. I don't see any speed difference between Exynos and S805 version, so it's hard to tell the truth.
*
If Samsung had better battery management for the Exynos, then it would be good and acceptable. But right now, even the Note 3 seems to have better battery life than the Note 4.

I am truly happy Malaysia pick the correct one.

So many complain in XDA for S805 edition, like laggy animation, GPS issue, gaming issue and etc.

Exynos 5433 is far ahead better than S805 this time.  smile.gif
*
Laggy animation and Gaming issue is present on Exynos too as I have personally experienced. Cause when comparing with Nexus 5, Nexus 5 is way smoother despite only S800 chipset.

The only way for proper comparison is to check Exynos and S805 side by side.

Battery is worse than GSMarena's review. I think i should do a fresh start tomorrow because unplug from charger at 8.15am, now left 58% at 1.23pm with 1h 46m SoT.  blink.gif
The unit i borrowed is from Sprint, so the LTE is locked to CDMA only. That means i only have 3G working.
*
Thanks bro. That's reassuring to know for us Exynos users. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(thelightside @ Nov 27 2014, 01:33 PM)
That is because of the qhd...all qhd device like the nexus 6 will hav these problem...by all accounts gaming performance is better on the exynos while some game do lag but both sd and exynos will lag due to qhd...as for batt life I do find that its better then my note3 if ure not getting good bad life try disabling all app u dun use...

Batt life diff between exynos and sd nobody know not tested yet but many hav reported gamming performance better on the exynos
*
This also correct. LG G3 with QHD also has laggy interface. nod.gif

I find that Note 4 is every way better than the iPhone 6 Plus. While the S Pen is the added advantage for the Note 4, it seems useless with the laggy issue. How do we overcome this? Why cant Note 4 be as smooth as the iPhone 6 Plus?
*
U referring to S Note right? So far when using Screen Write with S Pen on Note 4, I did not experience any lag, but the S Note app is really poorly made. Just to open one Note(book) and flipping pages in the app has considerable amount of delay. Makes taking notes such a chore and not practical for quick note taking.

Hi. Im new here. Pls help me. I currently live at iium gombak. I have Note3 nad the new one Note4. I noticed some weird signal activities of my N4. Fyi, i use celcom, n always set to 3G network (to conserve battery usage). Technically my N4 signal strength only got aroundĀ  -110db. But my Note 3 has higher than that, around -80 -> -90db. Sometimes my N4 got crazy and kept changing btwn 3bars to 1 bar, and if i was unlucky the network sign (3g, H...) fully disappeared. This sad story was discovered when I compared my new N4 with the old one N3. However, when sometimes I went home at shah alam, i turned on 4G, the signal was quite ok compared to my N3, it was jus the same gain of the network signal. I didnt see any trmendous difference btween both of them actually in 4G.
I made a call to samsung customer srvic, and huh they taught me how to do from A-Z, soft reset, safe mode, deleting bla bla (cliche...), but nothing worked! Finally they gave up n told me to come up with my N4 to any service centre for further inspection... Too sad, I have been expecting a higher reception quality from this or at least the same level as N3 has. For the time being, Im quite afraid of downloading bigger files in case of network interuption from the poor data reception.
Help me!
*
At poor reception areas, my Note 4 is able to maintain Maxis LTE signal lock and no issues with speed and call quality at all, even though the signal strength status displays only 1 or 2 bars.

I compared this to my iPhone 6 Plus in the same area, and the Maxis LTE signal drops every now and then.

I can't remember how was the signal quality on Note 3 but the Note 4's signal quality is pretty damn good to me! icon_rolleyes.gif
