You are right, its not the AppRadio, after i uninstall it, i still can mirror it while driving. Maybe it's the cable.
*

Last time I tested with Nexus 5 - KitKat, after put down handbrake, screen is gone.. not working..
Same setup as yours but is KitKat la that time.. Now Lollipop didnt test yet..

Is there any max speed for a new car? Heard from other that new car cannot drive / rev too much else engine spoil. My SA say it is a myth. sad.gif
*
If u scare, then jz be a good boy/girl, don't rev over 3k ram. Speed limit 90..
Just want to tell you that every car will have pre inspection before delivery. Every engine is tested before & after assembly.
Once u reach 1000km service, is jz a inspection, nothing replace or change..

QUOTE(voleman @ Jan 5 2015, 11:02 PM)
Hi guys. My wife has a City 2014 V spec and am planning to get her a new Android phone. Main criteria is that Waze should display on the V-spec HU  rclxub.gif

Besides solutions mentioned on the front page, all of which requires tinkering with the car, I am wondering if the slimport + Nexus setup actually works for other people too?

Also (question to sonofsam), do the bluetooth audio and steering phone controls work when you are mirroring using slimport? I assume you are using LG Nexus 5?

Thanks guys for your suggestions.
*
Hello voleman, if you really really love your wife, pls get her an iOS phone, either iP5, iP5s, iP6 also can..
don't bother about getting Android..
Seriously is useless now~~. OR better change the noob HU.

To answer a lot of ppl confusion, Android CAN mirror with V-spec HU, however DO mind the word "MIRROR", so basically all your touch has to be on the PHONE, not the HU.. And for Android user, u need to bypass the handbrake*.
*Not sure why "sonofsam" car can mirror the phone without bypass.

For iOS (iphone/ipad/ipod) user, you will be very lucky because your phone can "CONNECT" to HU instead of "MIRROR".
And doesn't require bypass.

Let's take WAZE for example,
Android user need to bypass handbrake (some cable), and then to search location, type, tap, click, EVERYTHING on the PHONE!
iOS user no need bypass handbrake, you can tap/scroll/search/type on the HU SCREEN.

Hope you guys able to see the different.
*iOS user also can bypass if you want to play video/youtube/etc. Waze by default doesn't need bypass.

Hi folks..
Do u guys hear a "kluk" sound on reaching  the first 40km speed.  This happens on every first start of car moving to speed 40km.

Aircon off
Radio Off
Wind down windows...

Try it out. see whether u guys heard this sound on ur City or not.

Is this normal?
*
Based on the Manual Book, it stated the sound is from safety feature turn on..
Some user might heard it loud, some heard it like mice, some can't even hear it due to loud audio from speaker.

However, there's 1 case report from FB club, which got a side head-on collision with Hilux, the airbag or whatever safety doesn't activate. Serious damage taken from the head to the side door till the rear. (*Suspect a theft Hilux on the run)

So rclxub.gif .. pls becareful on the road wear your safety belt, be alert always.. don't play phone.

This morning saw a blue colour new honda city kiss the butt of a old model honda crv. The crv looks good. But the city looks bad. Left front part totally crash and the bonnet flip up.
*
This is normal bro, almost all B/C Segment is like that..
If study physic, the front part of car is softer, to absorb impact so that injury can be reduce on passenger..

hi guys, i own the E spec for about 3 months plus already, currently facing few issues which the 1st services at puchong service center but couldn't resolved...
1. the passenger and driver's door knocking sound(tak tak tak) during driving and crossing the road bump is getting louder with out without wind down the mirror. Unless, i tune up the radio volume dry.gif
2. brake making noise every morning the first time i apply on break, and sometimes during the noon too. Service Agent claim "it's normal". < so, normal ke?
3. gear seem/sound like engaging the same shift even i had driven from 10-100km/h or more if i applying medium-light throttle without loose or increase the throttle < is it normal?
4. keyless unlock/lock button on handle sometimes doesn't work, have to use the remote to lock/unlock the door instead
5. the panel below handbrake having gaps, if i manage to clip on the left, right side loose, if i clip on the right, left side loose pulak doh.gif
6. side mirror folding/un-fold can hear very loud motor retract noise.
*
Mine V spec
1. Yes, mine sometimes got sound/ sometime no.. maybe because of the window.. You can request SA to fix it for u..
2. Normal?? depend la.. if your house area early morning fog/water density high, most likely got water around brake pad. Sometime after car wash will sound also..
3. U need to change your driving style, now u are driving CVT gear. Not normal 4/5/6/7 speed gearbox.. Maybe your medium-light consider heavy leg.. do look at your RPM meter how much u reach. Normal ppl light foot only 2k-2.5k rpm.
4. Myth saying if your key with your phone together, there's a chance that the key might not work due to inteference.
5. Complain SC, tell them fix for u.
6. Motor "eheehheeehheeehh" sound normal la.. & 1 side quick, 1 side slow.. = normal..
cool.gif

Hi. Anyone has any say about the steering feel of City when running at high speed? I was doing 110-120km/h and occasion short burst to 130-140km/h and it gave an unpleasant lightness feel and dare not to run faster. I am not complaining nor am I comparing but my older car, Proton Saga megavalve 1991 handled much better at 160-170km/h but of course when during new. I wonder how other owners' experiences are.
*
Proton Saga 1991 -> hydraulic steering system
Honda City 2014 -> Electric Power Steering System

How to compare la..? This is a pro and con.. Hydraulic more heavy but immediate respond.. Electric more light but electronic handle

There is a huge improvement after tighten up. Steering wheel is feel heavy a bit (when the speed going up) and easily feel the road condition + cornering is not wobbling side way.
*
This one must be racer!! laugh.gif

Normal highway curve(exit/enter highway) has a recommended limit which is 60 kmh.
Those highway bend left/right depend on the road on weather condition la, if windy don't drive so fast..

QUOTE(soniz @ Mar 17 2015, 08:12 PM)
Thanks for your info and response. As I said in my earlier post that I wasn't complaining nor comparing.Just want to know what other owners feel about the steering.
*
Hmm.. as a coming 1 year old owner of this car.. There's a mix feeling about it..
feel comfortable when u drive in tight and tiny city..
on highspeed (>150kmh), kinda scary cuz got a feeling where the steering doesnt react as fast as your hand sometimes..
So conclusion, if u don't feel confident on controlling the car, just slow down a little.. you live only once.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey guys, recently there's a guy in FB Group mention and show us about mirror your "ANDROID" phone to V-Spec Original Head Unit.
Here is a demo I did moment ago.
Please keep in mind, I do not bear the responsibility of your vehicle, phone, warranty & life when you try it.

First you need a MirrorLink Certified Smartphone : Search Here (I'm using HTC Desire EYE)
Seconds you need a "Data + Charging Cable" : Original cable that come with your Phone Box is recomended. Not Pasar Malam RM2 cable
Thrid you need lot of patient

Youtube below:

1. You need to connect your USB cable to smartphone. Let it complete & showing ">>" Arrow.
2. Turn on your bluetooth connect completely to HU. *The icon on HU must have bluetooth, battery bar and signal.
3. Press the ">>" Arrow, and DONE.

My previous car, kelisa, been driving like fast n furious..
After upgrade to City, I dont feel to drive that furious anymore..

Offen I drive 100-130, i got tailgate by Myvi,Viva,Kelisa,Kancil, and those old old car..
I got a feeling that life is short, need to enjoy the drive feeling, rather than from 1 spot to 1 spot..

I'm getting old..?? LOL
Anyway, City quality is really so-so.. but still better than proton..
Might be because mine is 1st batch.. So the assembly is more careful and tight.

So far didnt encouter rattling sound yet.. power window no problem.. didn't have problem as the current batch. smile.gif

If quality so so, with V variant RM 89k, is it worth it?
I read some pages back complaining the power window, and rattling sounds, also 40KM/h sounds?
Is it really serious? Or still manageable?
*
power window, & dashboard rattling sound can be fix.. dont worry..
40km/h sound only appear once every drive.. some mechanism activation sound.. if your radio volume loud enough, tthenn u wont notice it..

Y i choose city?
Almera: Design look boring..
Vois: lack of safety feature..
City Vspec: look nice, got plenty of safety feature comparing almera / vios., low fc, icon_rolleyes.gif

From the feedback, V variant budget range is with Almera & Vios only?
Hows the CVT engine? Got ppl say its underpower leh...  cry.gif
*
is B segment bro..
how do you feel underpower? City have more HP than vios n almera..
if u feel not good enough, then u look for wrong car, wrong segment dy..
Maybe try C segment 1800cc to 2000cc, civic, altis, or maybe those 1500cc below with turbo such as VW, Peugeot, or Mazda sky active.

Just went to another showroom for my FIRST test drive of the V variant.
I would say...As a driver, the feel was OK, but cornering seems so so only.
I asked the salesperson about Anti Roll Bar, he dunno about it.
And my mom sit at the rear passenger seat, she said the engine noise very loud, and noisy...
Do u guys experience the same too?

Power wise, econ mode really feel the underpower lah.

Any of u guys install Anti Roll bar into your city?
*
Well, depend on what car ur mum compare to.. Myvi? BMW?
Can't give u a proper answer. Different ppl got different experience level threshold.
Wonder if anyone did a proper noise test on all Bsegment. Will be very interesting.

All I can say is cheap car come with cheap stuff.
City roof is naked. No sound insulation. tyre noise due to tyre profile/type "goodyear" and no proper tyre sound insulation.

The time I bought my car, is because I need a car for work and future small family car. Not I buy to satisfy parent. Human will never satisfy at a point. Once u luxurious car, u nvr want to look at cheaper car if have options unless serious financial encounter.

Hey mate, my sound proofing on my city roof. Excellent noise damp under the rain, and quite cabin while driving (Don't mention the road lar.. haha~!)

Total 3 layer of sound proofing
- Bitumen strip layers on critical area
- Full bitumen over the layers
- a Layer of 3M™ Thinsulate  26mm thick (Actually 10mm is sufficient)

By the way, i took my V spec tires and hook up into my sister's myvi and the tires are very quiet compare to my myvi stock tires. Right now i am using nasty AA tires that are way damn noisy. *faint* rclxub.gif
[attachmentid=4408329]
*
How much and where u do that??
is the layer easily caught fire? cuz i heard some say the material easily burn...
