Original VLT before tinting: Original front windscreen VLT is 88%, side windows VLT is 94% while the rear windows is 94% VLT.
To tint make sure:- For the side windows tint, can tinted with max 53% VLT while the back of the car tinted with max VLT allowed is 32%. Lastly, the front windscreen can be tinted in a maximum of 79% VLT before able to passed the inspection.
Hi guys, how do you go about the tinting rules in regards about the above mentioned information?
Windows
City Native VLT(A)
JPJ Compliant VLT(B)
Lowest VLT Allowed(B/A)
Front Windshield
88%
70%
79%
Front Side Windows
94%
50%
53%
Back Side Windows
94%
30%
32%
Rear Windshield
88%
30%
34%
Based on the above information, most front shield tinting film must be 80% in order to be JPJ compliant. However none of the tints on the market meets the specific requirement.
Hence should I go forward to tint the car and pray it'll get passed should there's roadblock? Or wait till the tinting specialist produce new tints that meet the requirement?
Thanks.

Somehow I have the feeling the SA is trying to recoup some of the rebate he gave by getting me to tint with him. All the tints he recommended are 50% more expensive that the ones quoted outside.
Normally the items that will void is rear demister, water come in to interior cabin or rubber seal broken due to mishandling by tinting film.
Question is, does Honda Malaysia even provide warranty for car defects for tintings done recommended by their SA? My SA says as long as I get tint from his branch, he can get his PDI department to close one eye should there's any defects resulted from the tinting.

tint outside, may be cheaper, and you can see and know what film they are using on your car, SA tint, can quote you 1.5k, give you film worth of rm800, 700 masuk pocket
Exactly the situation I'm afraid, and the fact that the tint he recommended is 1.5 times of the quotation I asked around outside.
If call HM, definately they will void your car warranty for the windows area. Please do remember only the particular branch recognize the warranty but not other branches. Anything only refer back to this SA.
So the only decision to be made is that whether I can trust the SA to hold onto his words should anything happened?
gotta get back some money after giving it all out for the rebate, lol easy solution, just tell him that you've used all your money on something else, and will probably be eating grass after getting the car tinted, maybe he'll go easy on you
In fact, you can't trust anyone in any branch. When comes to problem...all throw back to customer. What you need to do is send outside for tinting but make sure check the electronic part to ensure all function as per normal.
Aiiiyoooo now I'm having problem. I paid booking fee rm500 yest, promise me can get but now no stock. Submit docs on Sunday, today maybank approve my loan, and evening I go buy number at Jpj got already. Now awaiting stock. Sui laaaa. My side all ok but branch lambat. Wanna ask if I go approach other branch now who has stock can ask them to deal ka or I have to migrate and ask for refund 500 since they can't deliver. I think my current sa now wanna push me go for 2015 model no discount one.
to all the honda city owners any possible way to time properly during overtaking and same time your CVT cry loudly just at the point of overtaking .. like RPm berapa and etc coz like this we the ppl you overtook confirm 9 out 10 stare at you for a short while
they may think either thinking ur engine sth wrong or ur engine reli power lol
Just done my first 1000KM service and SA advised me that the next service (10,000KM) will be around RM350, including engine oil, oil filter, and air-cond filter??? I don't get it why you need to change air-cond filter when the car is just 6 months old? I think this component alone already cost around RM100++
Tell them to follow what's on the maintenance schedule. Here's on Honda official website it showed that for 10k is just around RM200.
According to my SA that most workshop would try to include things that are not in the maintenance schedule on 10k, 30k, 50k, 70k, and 90k because the labour charges are free and it's the workshop way of making more money.
Hi guys, I just bought an iPhone and the necessary HDMI cables and lighting av adapter and connected to my City.
I would like to ask does using Waze and mirroring through HDMI cable still require bypass cable? For my scenario Waze only mirrors when the handbrake is engaged.
You need install Radioapp on ur iPhone. Create acct n log in.
Connect the HDMI n Bluetooth. If the double right arrow on home screen work for u then its great. If not go to audio n select HDMI as source. Activate radioapp n then activate waze now(ensure waze setting allow external control) it will mirror on ur HU even if handbrake is down n driving. I can even control my waze from HU.
Except sound still come from my phone as I did not activate Bluetooth sound output.
Did not try video on the move for obvious reason.
Can you provide the link or screenshot for Radioapp? I've tried download a few but I am not sure if it's the correct app. Thanks
