A little story that I would like to share with everyone.
I have a Fujitsu U1010 3G+GPS version and it had a 2 cell, 7.2v, 2.6Ah battery. The battery is 2 years old and could now only hold less then 30 minutes. Official quote from Fujitsu Malaysia, RM530. Alternative Battery recell quote, RM80 The decision to be made was obvious. Dropped the battery off one day around noon, next day afternoon got SMS stating that it was ready, went to collect it the evening itself. Max Drain: 1:36 CPU: Speedsteep off, forced max (800Mhz) Screen: Max Brightness (8/8), auto off disabled WiFi: Radio enabled and connected to AP Bluetooth: Radio on, connected to Bluetooth mouse 3G: Connected to HSPA, downloading torrents in background GPS: GPS on with 3D satellite fix Network: connected to network Hard Disk: Power Down Disabled Graphics: Power Management Off Speakers: On, Max Volume Keyboard LED: On USB: flash drive inserted CF Slot: occupied with storage card SD Slot: occupied with storage card Low batt warning: off, suspend/hibernate disabled Playing Counter-Strike LAN game from start till battery died Very impressive while having everything on and working while playing game. Max Stretch: 3:36 CPU: Speedsteep off, forced lowest (450Mhz) Screen: Min Brightness (1/8), 2 minute auto off WiFi: Radio off Bluetooth: Radio off 3G: Radio off GPS: GPS off Network: not connected, controller disabled Hard Disk: 1 minute Power Down Graphics: Max Power Management Speakers: off Keyboard LED: Off CF Slot: slot empty, controller disabled SD Slot: slot empty, controller disabled USB: no devices Low batt warning: off, suspend/hibernate disabled Basically the machine is just sitting there doing nothing Remember, this is a 2 cell batt, 3 1/2 hours is cool. Day to day usage: 1:45 - 2:15 CPU: Speedsteep on, forced low (450Mhz - 600Mhz) Screen: Brightness 2,4,8/8, depending indoors or outdoors and lighting condition, 2 minute auto off WiFi: On if I'm at home or at a hotspot, otherwise it is off Bluetooth: Off unless transferring files to other phone/pda/laptop or audio thru A2DP 3G: Always On, almost always connected unless I am at WiFi hotspot GPS: off unless I am driving Network: almost never use, WiFi at home is sufficient for small file transfers, bigger files use flash drive Hard Disk: 1 minute Power Down Graphics: Max Power Management Speakers: off, audio usually I use Bluetooth A2DP Keyboard LED: depending on lighting condition CF Slot: controller disabled, unless transferring photos from camera SD Slot: controller disabled, unless transferring files from PDA USB: usually just for file transfer via flash drive Low batt warning: off, suspend/hibernate disabled Conclusion: RM530 vs RM80 1UP for Alternative-Battery I highly recommend this to everyone. For those who haven't tried altbattery or still thinking about it,
IT IS FANATASTIC! Batteries are great, service is fast, price is cheap. Till date altbattery has re-celled 4 batteries for me, ranging from Fujitsu to Lenovo to Dell. Thank you, you have saved me lots of hassle, time and money. |
